Daniel continues to be the most consistent element of Tascosa’s offense throughout the season, and proved it once again during the Rebels 34-22 win against rival Amarillo High. The operator of Tascosa’s triple option ran for a game-high 164 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries.
Tayden Barnes, Tascosa, DB, Jr.
Barnes two blocked first half field goals led to 12 Tascosa points that shifted the momentum and lifted the Rebels a huge win against Amarillo High. Barnes wasn’t done on special teams as the junior racked up seven tackles in the contest.
Friona running backs
The trio of Bryan Chavira, Jacob Bautista and Mario Bautista had an absolutely amazing effort keeping the Chieftains unbeaten with a 62-42 shootout win against Tulia. Friona chewed up 693 yards rushing against the Hornets led by Chavira’s 266 yards on 29 carries with four touchdown. Not to be outdone was Jacob who used his quickness for 214 yards on 17 carries finding pay dirt on three different occasions. Mario also got in on the fun for 166 yards on 19 carries for a TD.
Marc Ramirez, Wellington, RB, Sr.
Ramirez made his presence known in a huge way as the Skyrockets look to be back after a 44-14 win against Shamrock. The All-State running back dominated the Irish toting 21 carries for 293 yards with five touchdowns in the victory.

Landyn Hack, Panhandle, QB, Sr.
Panhandle found the win column for the first time this season beating Olton 42-20 on Friday, and Hack was a huge reason why. Hack was the star of the show as the dual-threat quarterback combined for 229 yards of offense, that included 128 yards rushing with five combined touchdowns.
Ridge Holland, Gruver, RB, Jr.
Holland had a heck of a Friday night to help the Greyhounds stay perfect on the year, not to mention getting a thrilling 27-26 win at Vega on Friday. Trailing 26-21 with two seconds to play QB Mason Gibson tossed a jump pass to Holland from the Vega 5-yard line for the game-winner as time expired to give Gruver an epic victory. Holland added a rushing TD as well finishing with 102 total yards.
Damon Carrasco, Caprock, RB, Jr.
Caprock earned its most impressive win of the year and kept playoff hopes very much alive downing Lubbock Monterey on Thursday 28-7. Carrasco was stellar behind the effort of his offense line. The junior became a workhorse carrying the ball 35 times for 134 yards against the Plainsman with two touchdowns.
Tray Toliver, Borger, QB, Jr.
Welcome back Tray Toliver. After missing the first half of the year with an injury, Toliver delivered an excellent game that gave the Bulldogs a 31-17 win over Levelland to open district. The son of Borger head coach Duane Toliver ended his big night passing for 124 yards with a TD, and rushing for another 62 yards with a pair of scores.
Dario Bressler, Canyon, RB, Sr.
Bressler just keeps getting better by the week. The Eagles held off Andrews 28-26, but couldn’t have done without Bressler leading the way on the ground. The senior scooted for 194 yards on 20 carries with a pair of touchdown runs.
Brett Trimmell, Bushland, DL, Sr.
Trimmell was a force for Bushland on the defensive side of a 44-14 district victory at Muleshoe. The senior defensive lineman ate up the Mules offensive line getting in on 12 tackles, two for a loss with a sack, and a forced fumble.
