The talented junior gunslinger had himself a career performance during the Hornets 38-13 blistering of Brownfield. McCaslin picked a part the Cubs defense going 26-of-41 for 419 yards with three touchdown tosses. McCaslin also added a rushing score as Tulia is off to a 2-0 start to the year.
Avery Randle, Palo Duro, QB, Jr.
The Dons are 2-0 for the first time since 2012, and Randle is a big reason for it. Making his first start against Plainview, the junior dual-threat QB took a bite out of the Bulldogs in a 64-41 win.
Randle totaled 328 yards of offense combining for six touchdowns. Randle completed 12-of-13 passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns, then ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries.
Christian McGuire, Canyon, RB-WR-LB
The versatile sophomore did a little bit of it all helping first-year coach Todd Winfrey earn his first career victory, 43-7, against Burkburnett.
McGuire was a perfect 3-for-3 in his snaps under center for 39 yards, rushed for 84 yards on three carries with a touchdown, and caught a 64-yard touchdown pass. Defensively he made four tackles with an interception.
Gabriel Ontiveros, Dimmitt, QB-LB, Sr.
Ontiveras did everything he could to help snap Dimmitt’s 17-game losing skid dating back to 2019. Thanks to the seniors play the Bobcats did just that taking down Olton 14-6. Ontiveras scored both scored both TDs for Dimmitt throwing for 89 yards and making four tackles on defense.

This was the Bishop fans expected to see during the Bobcats 29-7 handling of Perryton. The elusive QB opened the Homecoming contest with a pair of first quarter touchdown runs of 38, and 4-yards, tacking on a 2-point conversion for an early 15-0 lead. He was far from done finishing the game 22-of-36 for 315 yards, and toted the ball nine times for 116 yards and a pair of scores.
James Bednorz, Dumas, RB, Sr.
In one of the more exciting games Friday, Bednorz was a workhorse for head coach Aaron Dunnam during the Demons come-from-behind 30-27 home win against Lubbock Estacado.
Behind a solid offensive line, the senior running back chewed up the Matadors for 131 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns.
Cornelius Landers, Pampa, RB, Sr.
Landers led the Harvesters to a 37-29 home win against Dalhart, giving first-year coach, Cody Robinson, his first career victory. The speedy Landers outmatched the Golden Wolves defense by rushing for 235 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries. That paced a 464-yard offensive effort by Pampa.
Luke Flowers, Canadian, RB-DB, So.
The sophomore sensation is putting his name on the map. Canadian pushed its winning streak to 16 straight avenging last year’s loss to Iowa Park in a 40-21 home win. Flowers was superb toting the ball 12 times for 114 yards and two TDs. He also added an interception on the defensive side.
Colton Millsap, Gruver, WR-DB, Sr.
What a gutsy performance from Millsap and the Gruver Greyhounds. Trailing 20-0 in the first half, the Greyhounds made a furious second half comeback scoring with 15 seconds to play to stun Panhandle, 35-34. Millsap was all over the field in the thrilling victory rushing for 64 yards with two scores, snagging two passes for 54 yards, had a 2-point conversion, and two pass breakups in the secondary.
Bryan Chavira, Friona, QB-DB, Sr.
Chavira simply was untouchable guiding the Chieftains to a 38-0 blanking of the Borger Bulldogs. The shifty senior showed off his skills thanks to a game-high 171 yards rushing on 15 carries and two touchdowns. Chavira was a perfect 4-for-4 passing for 36 yards, and in the secondary racked up three tackles.
