Randall boys showcase skills during District 3-A Golf Tournament

The Randall golf team played two excellent rounds to claim the 36-hole District 3-5A boys championship on Thursday afternoon at the Ross Rogers Golf Complex.

The Raiders fired an eye-opening 288 team total during Wednesday’s first 18 round on the WildHorse layout, then followed that performance up with a team score of 300 on the Mustang course Thursday.

Tascosa also played two superb rounds of team golf scoring a 36-hole total of 298-310— 608 to come in second.

Both teams advance to the Region I-5A Tournament which is set for that is set to take place at the Rawls Golf Course in Lubbock on April 21-22.

Randall sophomore Wyatt Provence highlighted the district meet thanks to stellar play. During Wednesday’s first round, Provence stuck the ball with excellence fire a 5-under par 67. On Thursday, Provence braved a stiff south wind on the very challenging Mustang side to shoot an even-par 72, to claim the outright district title.

Teammate Caden Conrad came in second shooting a 4-under par 68 on Wednesday, followed by a 75 Thursday for a 143.

Tascosa’s B team player Sam Fisk (82-76— 158) and Randall’s B team player Owen Reynolds (77-82— 159) advanced to regionals as individuals.
