Dumas ran its Texas Panhandle-best regular season win streak to 19-straight victories thanks to an impressive 38-13 route of Lubbock Estacado at PlainsCapital Park at Lowrey Field on Friday night.
The Demons seized control of the game in the second quarter behind quarterback Spencer Williams.
The senior punched in a touchdown on a 1-yard plunge, putting Dumas up 14-0 with 3:45 to go to half.
Up 14-6 on the following possession, Williams found Juan Romero on a 34-yard pitch and catch, then connected on a 67-yard TD pass to Zyrell Murga that gave Dumas the 28-6 advantage at the break.
Williams finished his big night completing 9-of-15 passes for 244 yards with four touchdowns. He also added 44 yards on the ground with a score.
Romero was Williams go-to weapon snagging five catches for 124 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
The Demons (2-0) return home to face Perryton (0-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Canyon opens season in style
Canyon couldn’t wait to open its 2020 campaign and it showed with a 71-28 thumping of Burkburnett at Bulldogs Stadium on Friday night.
The Eagles soared out of the gate by scoring 31 first quarter points, exploding out to a 31-8 lead and never looking back.
Canyon’s offensive balance was on display as the Eagles totaled 666 yards of offense, with 443 coming on the ground.
Coach Blake Bryant’s team also spread the wealth with seven different players scoring TD’s.
Running back Brody Cook couldn’t be stopped toting the ball 20 times for a game-high 164 yards with two touchdowns. Teammate Elijah Smotherman added 105 rushing yards with two touchdowns of his own.
Quarterback Jay Defoor, who missed the last five games of last season with a leg injury, was on-point 15-of-23 for 219 yards and three passing touchdowns with a rushing TD. Senior Jack McKay was the leading receiver making four catches for 73 yards and a score.
Canyon (1-0) will open the home portion of its schedule when they host Lubbock Estacado (0-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Pampa airs it out in win over Dalhart
The Pampa Harvesters picked up their second straight win to start the season Friday night with a 28-6 road victory in Dalhart.
Pampa’s gunslinger Jack Studebaker had plenty of opportunity as Harvesters football coach Greg Poynor called for 50 passing attempts.
Studabaker was accurate as one could be throwing for 301 yards on 37-of-50 passes (74 percent) to go with three touchdowns.
Cayden Stout was the key recipient with an impressive 14 receptions for 123 yards. Hunter Dyer snagged five catches for 53 and two scores, while Cornelius Landers showed his versatility carrying the ball 11 times for 41 yards, then catching seven passes for 43 yards and a score.
Pampa improves to 2-0 on the season and will play host to arch-rival Borger (0-2) at 7 p.m. Friday. As for the Golden Wolves, they fall to 1-1 on the season and have a tough task ahead of them as they host Spearman (2-0).

Childress stays hot
The Childress Bobcats are off to a great start to the 2020 season with their second straight convincing win.
The Bobcats offense took over in the second quarter as Childress pulled away from Perryton for a 35-17 win Friday night at Rangers Stadium.
The Rangers (0-1) led 10-7 into the second quarter until the Bobcats scored 21 unanswered that started on a quarterback Collin Bishop 15-yard touchdown scamper, giving Childress a 14-10 advantage.
On the next possession, Bishop hit Lamont Nickelberry for their second of three touchdown connections, this one for 57 yards that made the score 21-10. Bishop also found Nickelberry on a 27-yard and 7-yard touchdown scores.
Childress (2-0) travels to Stamford at 7 p.m. Friday. Perryton will head to Dumas.
