Bushland jumped out early on its way to a 52-0 shutout over rival River Road to clinch a share of the District 2-3A Division I title on Friday night.
Quarterback Jared Thomas was superb on Senior night, as he picked apart the Wildcat defense, going a near perfect 14 of 16 for 215 years with four touchdowns through the air.
The Falcons defense was up for another challenge, pitching their second shutout of the season, while holding River Road to 72 yards of total offense.
The No. 4 Falcons are 9-0 overall and clinch a share of the District 2-3 Division I title at 4-0.
River Road falls to 1-3 district and 3-6 overall. The Wildcats must beat Littlefield at home next week to have any chance at the playoffs.
Shallowater defeated Littlefield on Friday, 43-21, and Slaton thumped Muleshoe 70-28. Both Shallowater and Slaton have clinched playoff spots.

Childress runs over Spearman

Childress clinched second place in District 3-3A Division II by rolling over Spearman 48-21 on Friday at Fair Park Stadium in Childress.
The Bobcats have turned their season around, winning three of their last four games after an 0-5 start.
Childress is now 3-6 overall, but the most important number is the 3-1 district record, which will give coach Jason Sims team the No. 2-seed out of 3-3A Division II.
Spearman, which has clinched a playoff spot, falls to 5-4, 2-2.
The Bobcats offense exploded for 506 yards against the Lynx led by quarterback Trent Mayden.
Mayden picked a part the Lynx secondary going 13 of 16 for 312 yards and four touchdowns. His longest TD pass of the night came on a 61-yard bomb to Lane Foster, putting Childress up 28-7 in the second quarter.
On the ground, Bobcats running back Miguel Salinas added 110 yards on 14 carries with two TDs.

Chieftains takes down Tulia
Thanks to a 42-14 rout of Tulia, the Friona Chieftains secured a playoff spot out District 3-3A Division II on Friday night in Friona.
Chieftains quarterback Jose Grado had an amazing performance, completing 22 of 33 for 309 yards with three touchdowns. Grado’s main target Josiah Rejino. Rejino made six catches for 85 yards with a pair of scores.
Teammate Jacob Bautista added four catches 80 for yards on top of running for 193 yards with three touchdowns.
Tulia falls to 4-5, 1-3.

Canadian blasts Dimmitt
It was another quick night for the No. 1-ranked Canadian Wildcats in a 66-18 blowout of Dimmitt on Friday night at Wildcats Stadium.
Canadian is one of three undefeated Texas Panhandle teams remaining at 9-0, and clinched the District 3-3A Division II championship with a 4-0 mark.
The Wildcats have also won 36 straight district games dating back to 2012.
Quarterback Grant McCook was 8 of 13 for 154 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Receiver Twister Kelton snagged four catches for 104 yards and a touchdown.
