West Plains saw a tremendous season come to an end at the hands of No. 1-ranked Stephenville, 31-21. Gruver was able to get past rival Stratford 19-14 to win in the UIL Region I-2A Division II championship for a second straight year, and West Texas High stayed unbeaten at 14-0 by handling Cisco, 48-22, to advance to the UIL Class 2A Division I state semifinals for the first time since 1995.
