Non-district

Boys Ranch (2-6) at Guymon, Okla., 7 p.m.
The Roughriders step out of district play traveling across the border for a showdown with the Tigers. Look for Boys Ranch to snap a two-game skid by the end of this one. … Boys Ranch 26, Guymon 20

District 4-1A
Division I

Knox City (8-0, 1-0) at Valley (4-4, 1-0), 7 p.m.
In a battle for the district title, the Patriots would love to stun the state and upset the top team in Division I. However, the Greyhounds are playing at a level that makes them serious contenders for a state title. …Knox City 58, Valley 13

Non-district

Amarillo PCHEA (2-6) at Booker (5-4), 6 p.m.
After back-to-back juggernauts in Happy and Whitharral, the Kiowas will find the endzone early and often in a blowout win. …Booker 60, Amarillo PCHEA 8

Friday’s games

District 2-5A
Division I

Lubbock Cooper (5-3, 3-1) at Tascosa (3-4, 2-2), 7 p.m.
Tascosa has turned its season around with two straight wins. In this one Cooper will test Tascosa at a whole another level than the last two games. Tascosa will hang, but Cooper just too much. … Cooper 38, Tascosa 28

Amarillo High (4-4, 3-1) at Abilene High (7-2, 5-0), 7 p.m.
Amarillo High takes on the best in 2-5A DI on the road. The Sandies are playing well with QB Will Flaming on a serious roll. But Abilene closes out district with a perfect record. … Abilene 31, Amarillo High 24

Lubbock Coronado (2-6, 1-3) at Lubbock Monterey (3-5, 1-3), 7 p.m.
This is a biggie. Both have struggled this year, but the winner keeps playoff destiny in its own hands. … Monterey 17, Coronado 14

District 2-5A
Division II

Palo Duro (3-4, 1-2) at Abilene Wylie (5-3, 2-1), 7 p.m.
The Dons need this one. Wylie can score points, so PD has to put up 35 to win this one. Close, but this road trip and Wylie too much. … Wylie 42, Palo Duro 31

Wichita Falls Rider (6-2, 3-0) at Plainview (5-3, 1-2), 7 p.m.
I picked Plainview in the upset last week. Not this week. … Rider 38, Plainview 17

Abilene Cooper (3-5, 2-1) at Lubbock High (0-3, 2-6), 7 p.m.
Cooper is playoff bound. Lubbock High is not. … Cooper 42, Lubbock High 14

– Lance Lahnert
Last week: 5-1 (.833)
Season: 29-8 (.783)

District 3-4A
Division I

Hereford (6-2, 1-1) at Randall (5-4, 2-1), 7 p.m.
Positioning is the name of the game in this one, as both teams have clinched playoff spots, and this is the final regular season game for Randall. If the Raiders win and Canyon beats Dumas, they’ll clinch the district’s No. 2 playoff seed, and with a win and a Canyon loss, Randall will still have a shot at the No. 1 seed. With a win, Hereford would also remain mathematically alive for a district title but would need some help to get it. Randall needs to shake that lopsided loss to Canyon ISD rival Canyon last week to move forward, giving the Raiders an edge. … Randall 21, Hereford 17

Canyon (7-1, 2-0) at Dumas (3-5, 1-1), 7 p.m.
The math is pretty simple for Canyon, as the Eagles will clinch the district’s No. 1 seed with a victory with one game left in the regular season. Dumas can still get a No. 1 district seed with a victory, but like Hereford, the Demons would need a lot of things to fall right for that to happen. Either way, both teams are going to the playoffs and have incentive to play well. Canyon happens to be playing better right now, getting back to basics running the ball and on defense, and those elements should send the Eagles back home with a win. … Canyon 35, Dumas 17

District 2-4A
Division II

Borger (4-4, 1-1) at Perryton (2-6, 1-1), 7 p.m.
Another game which is pretty much about positioning, as the winner will have a shot at the district’s No. 2 seed and the loser will likely settle for the No. 4 seed, so there is something at stake even though both teams are already in the playoffs. They enter this game from opposite directions, as Borger rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat Levelland and Perryton was routed at district champ West Plains. Being back home will benefit Perryton in what should feel like a playoff game between two evenly matched teams. … Perryton 30, Borger 20

Seminole (7-1, 1-1) at Levelland (2-7, 0-3), 7 p.m.
Seminole’s incentive is trying to get a share of the district title and clinch the No. 2 seed, while Levelland literally has nothing to play for after this week with the end of the regular season after the final whistle. Do the math. … Seminole 42, Levelland 7

– Lee Passmore
Last week: 4-0 (1.000)
Season: 36-9 (.800)

District 2-3A
Division I

Dalhart (7-1, 2-0) at Bushland (8-1, 3-0), 7 p.m.
Bushland is hoping to send the seniors off in style with an outright district title. The Golden Wolves would love nothing more than to spoil those plans and pull off another massive upset. Dalhart is big up front and physical behind QB Kyler Read, but do they have the skill to keep up with a soaring Falcon squad for four quarters. … Bushland 40, Dalhart 21

Shallowater (3-5, 0-2) at Muleshoe (7-1, 1-1), 7 p.m.
Here’s another huge game out of the district. Looking at the records most think this should be a lopsided affair in favor of the Mules. However, the Mustangs are very good in the trenches and can create problems. This will take Muleshoe’s best effort. … Muleshoe 29, Shallowater 27

District 3-3A
Division II

Tulia (1-7, 0-3) at Canadian (8-0, 3-0), 7 p.m.
The best part of this game will come at halftime when Canadian ISD honors former legendary head coach Chris Koetting with his special field induction. The Wildcats win big on Chris Koetting Field at Wildcats Stadium. … Canadian 55, Tulia 7

Friona (4-4, 2-1) at Spearman (3-5, 1-2), 7 p.m.
Expect a very physical war between two teams that love to run the football. This game will also decide who stays in contention for second in third place and avoids the four-spot. … Spearman 29, Friona 23

Dimmitt (2-6, 1-2) at Childress (4-4, 2-1), 7 p.m.
Childress takes a step closer to clinching second place in the district with a win. … Childress 42, Dimmitt 15

– Kale Steed
Last week: 5-0 (1.000)
Season: 45-6 (.882)

District 1-2A
Division I

Stratford (8-0, 3-0) at Highland Park (4-4, 0-3), 7 p.m.
The Elks can clinch a share of the district championship with a win over the struggling Hornets. … Stratford 54, Highland Park 14

Farwell (6-2, 2-1) at West Texas High (4-4, 2-1), 7 p.m.
The winner of this clash is more than likely solidifying themselves for third place in the district chase. The Comanches will give the Steers all the want, but will they have enough. … Farwell 38, WT High 28

Sanford-Fritch (0-8, 0-3) at Panhandle (7-1, 2-1), 7 p.m.
The Panthers won’t waste any time taking care of business in this lopsided contest. … Panhandle 52, Fritch 8

District 2-2A
Division II

Wellington (6-2, 3-0) at Quanah (1-7, 1-2), 7 p.m.
The Skyrockets haven’t allowed a point in three district games. Let’s make that four straight after Friday night. … Wellington 42, Quanah 0

Shamrock (4-4, 1-2) at Clarendon (5-3, 3-0), 7 p.m.
The red-hot Broncos can’t overlook the Irish with Wellington looming next week. Shamrock’s offense is good enough to sneak up on anyone. … Clarendon 34, Shamrock 20

District 3-2A
Division II

Sudan (5-3, 2-1) at Bovina (2-6, 1-2), 7 p.m.
The Mustangs need to sting the Hornets if they want to stay in any type of playoff conversation. … Sudan 34, Bovina 23

– Kale Steed
Last week: 6-2 (.750)
Season: 53-10 (.841)

District 1-1A
Division I

Follett (5-3, 0-1) at White Deer (3-5, 0-1), 7 p.m.
Follett is coming off a late game loss to Miami while the Bucks played McLean tough before falling. The Panthers have to avoid a letdown from last week against a scrappy “dirty dozen” White Deer team to keep their playoff hopes alive. Look for this one to stay close early before the Panthers pull away. …Follett 52, White Deer 12

Miami (8-0, 1-0) at McLean (6-2, 1-0), 7 p.m.
The classic “trap game” awaits the Warriors on the road. Hot off their big win at home they travel to Tigers country to take on a hard-nosed, downhill team looking to put themselves in the thick of a district title race. However, head coach D.J. Howell’s team is looking to accomplish much more than a district title. …Miami 62, McLean 18

District 2-1A
Division I

Nazareth (2-6, 0-1) at Claude (3-5, 1-0), 7 p.m.
Tell me which Claude team shows up and I’ll have a much better idea on the score.  The Mustangs have the talent to give Nazareth a game, but the Swifts proved last week that their record doesn’t represent how this team is playing. …Nazareth 48, Claude 24

Happy (7-1, 1-0) at Wildorado (2-6, 0-1), 7 p.m.
The Mustangs are going to throw the kitchen sink at Happy in the passing game to try and expose a glaring weakness in that Cowboys defense. If the Cowboys can avoid the big plays on defense, they should win this one going away. …Happy 66, Wildorado 20

District 1-1A
Division II

Lefors (2-6, 1-1) at Groom (4-5, 2-1), 7 p.m.
The winner of this one grabs the second spot in this district and is headed to the playoffs. Groom is a tough out at home and that doesn’t change this week in a key victory. …Groom 56, Lefors 24

Hedley (2-6, 0-2) at Darrouzett (0-8, 0-2), 7 p.m.
Both teams are playing have been hurt by low numbers. The Owls with Nick Clark are just a better team in this matchup. … Hedley 52, Darrouzett 18

– Craig Sperry
Last Week: 6-1 (.857)
Season: 65-12 (.844)
