Joseph Plunk, Tascosa, Sr. QB

The Rebels are back in the third round of the Class 6A Division II playoffs for a second straight year, and Plunk, behind a bruising offensive line is a big reason. The dynamic Plunk ran for 228 yards on 38 carries with three touchdowns during a 45-37 win against Arlington Bowie.

Ben Crockett, McLean, Sr. RB

The 6-foot-1 215 pound bruiser bullied Spur during a 54-8 Class 1A Division I regional semifinal rout. Crockett threw for 127 yards, ran for 178 yards, combining for six touchdowns.

Ah Lee Yart, Dumas, Jr. K

Yart maybe one of the best kept secrets in the Texas Panhandle. The junior with a big leg, hit three key field goals from 42, 37 and 24-yards, that lifted the Demons past Seminole 23-15, and keeping Dumas a perfect 12-0.

On the season, Yart is 52 of 53 on extra-point attempts.

Brayden Beck & Patrick Perea, Randall, RB

It’s hard to mention one without the other. The

duo combined for 222 rushing yards with a pair of touchdowns that helped lift Randall over Canutillo, 35-14 in the Class 5A Division II area round. The Raiders advance to the third round of the playoffs for a second straight year.

Stephen Pulliam, Canadian, Sr. LB

Pulliam was an unsung hero for the Wildcats in a 49-14 drubbing of Coahoma in the Class 3A Division II area round Friday. The senior linebacker made a key interception at the goal line that shifted the momentum in the second quarter. He also was in on 23 assisted tackles.

Hunter Haynes, Gruver, Sr. SB

Haynes has turned it up to another level in two playoff wins for the Greyhounds. During 56-24 thumping of Van Horn, Haynes blistered the defense for 137 yards rushing, 137 yards receiving for a combined six touchdowns.

Jared Thomas, Bushland, Sr. QB

Whitesboro wasn’t able to pull off another upset thanks to Thomas and the offense. The dual-threat quarterback soared past the Bearcats throwing for 219 yards with three scoring passing, and ran for 55 yards with two more TDs.

Jose Grado, Friona, Sr. QB

The Chieftain signal caller was on-point all afternoon as Friona beat Alpine, 37-22, Saturday, advancing to the third round of the playoffs for the first time since 1996. Grado ended the day going 22 of 30 for 173 yards with a touchdown.

Jaykob Hernandez, WT High, Sr.

The explosive receiver was a mismatch for the Seymour secondary, snagging five catches for 191 yards with four touchdowns. Hernandez averaged 38 yards per catch during the 56-26 rout.

Marc Ramirez & Jaden Combs, Wellington RB

The duo destroyed Christoval, rushing for a combined 300 yards and six touchdowns. Ramirez piled up 160 yards with three scores, while Combs matched the three TDs on 140 yards rushing.
