
It was a clean sweep for Borger on the pitch Friday night at Bulldogs Stadium.
Behind late-game heroics from the Bulldogs, and an offensive explosion from the Lady Bulldogs, Borger protected home turf and delivered a pair of district wins over Perryton.
The boys game was a physical battle. The Bulldogs struck late to knock off the visiting Rangers 1-0 in dramatic fashion.

From the opening whistle, Borger controlled possession and dictated tempo, keeping steady pressure on the Rangers defense, creating several quality chances at goal, in the first half, but the finish never came.
Despite the Bulldogs controlling much of the first half, it ended in a scoreless tie, setting the stage for a dramatic second half. Borger continued to apply pressure after the break, but could not score, Perryton’s keeper, Isaac Ramirez protected the net well all night.
Tension built, as the clock ticked down, but the breakthrough finally came with 6:56 remaining on the clock.
Julio Saucedo delivered a perfectly placed pass, through the defense, connecting with Ulises Castaneda, who beat the defender to the ball, and finally put one past the Perryton goalie, giving Borger the 1-0 lead and the game-winner.
From there, Borger dug in defensively, and held on for a thrilling 1-0 win over Perryton, the Bulldogs move to 7-9-2 on the season, and finish the first round of district play at 2-4-1, Perryton falls to 5-5-3 overall, 2-3-2 in District action.

From the opening whistle, the Lady Bulldogs set the tone, overwhelming the visiting Rangeretts, cruising to an 8-0 victory.
It didn’t take long for the Lady Bulldogs to score, Just six and half minutes into the game, Riley Lumpkin found the back of the net giving Borger a 1-0 lead. Minutes later, she struck again, And then again. Midway through the first half, Lumpkin had completed a hat trick, netting three goals.
The third goal was a significant one for Lumpkin, as it marked her 100th goal of her career.
Borger wasn’t done scoring.
With 7:16 remaining in the first half, Hadley Reed found the back of the net, pushing Borger ahead 4-0, and giving the Lady Bulldogs complete control heading into the break. In the second half, Borger picked up right where it left off. Ten minutes into the second half, Joselyn Aguilera scored for the Lady Bulldogs, stretching the lead to 5-0.
Moments later, Reed struck again, for her second goal of the night, making the score 6-0. She would complete a hat trick of her own, after converting a penalty kick, to push Borger’s advantage to 7-0. With 19:40 remaining, Lumpkin capped off a great night, netting a header for her fourth goal of the match, triggering the mercy rule and sealing an 8-0 victory for the Lady Bulldogs.
Borger moves to 10-1-2 overall and 6-1 in District 3-4A, to close out the first round.
