District 3-4A Girls

The Randall Lady Raiders secured a second straight District 3-4A championship Wednesday night by pummeling Pampa 9-0 at Happy State Bank Stadium.

Randall went on to complete an unbelievable district season by blowing out Hereford 13-1 to finish off the regular season at 17-5-1 and 13-0-1 in league play.

In the win against Pampa, Ryann Davis netted two scores as did Jess Ledesma. Against Hereford, Kyndal Mcclain tallied a hattrick giving her four goals for the week with Layla Williams adding a pair of goals.

The Lady Raiders will start the UIL Class 4A Division II playoffs next week.

District quick hits

West Plains earned the second spot out of district and will head to the Class 4A Division I playoffs. The Lady Wolves earned shutout wins over Dumas, 9-0, and Canyon, 7-0. Senior Mya Bartlett scored eight goals on the week which helped her reach a special milestone getting a new school record for goals in a season with 42. Lydia Aikman added four goals on the week as well. West Plains (15-3-3) closed out the year 12-1-1 in District 3-4A.

Borger took down Canyon 4-1 and shutout Perryton 7-0 as the Lady Bulldogs are now set to head to the postseason in UIL Class 4A Division II. Riley Lumpkin led Borger with six goals for the week giving her 37 district goals on the year. In addition to being the district leader in goals, Lumpkin set a new school-record with 52 goals on the year. The Lady Bulldogs end the regular season at 14-5 overall and 10-4 in district play.

Canyon earned the fourth and final playoff spot and will be in the Class 4A Division I bracket. The Lady Eagles ended the season at 8-13-1 overall and 8-6 in District 3-4A.

In District 3-5A, the Amarillo High Lady Sandies are once again District 3-5A champions. AHS was able to get a big 2-0 win over Lubbock-Monterey with Sophia Hernandez scoring both goals. The Lady Sandies (16-1-2 overall) finished district with an impressive 13-0-2 mark. AHS will be the No. 1-seed in the Class 5A Division I playoffs.

Tascosa clinched a playoff spot during a 1-1 tie with Lubbock-Cooper. Isabel Meier and Sara Brewton combined for a goal for the Lady Rebels. Tascosa followed that outing by beating Palo Duro 4-0. Alaina Gomez led the team with a pair of goals. Tascosa (9-5-4) finished district with a 9-3-3 record and will be in Class 5A Division I.

District 3-5A Boys

Palo Duro and Tascosa clashed at Dick Bivins Stadium last week with the Dons coming away with a 3-1 win.

The contest remained scoreless until Angel Macias scored for Palo Duro at the 30-minute mark of the first half giving the Dons a 1-0 advantage. Tascosa’s Jose Garcia quickly tied the game with four minutes to go only to see Palo Duro take the lead for good on a Merci Murama goal as the Dons took a 2-1 lead into intermission. In the second half, Gael Garay gave the Dons insurance putting one in the net as Palo Duro went on for the 3-1 win.

Palo Duro is in third place at the moment in District 3-5A at 7-2-4 and 11-4-4 overall. Tascosa did get a 1-0 blanking of Lubbock-Cooper earlier in the week. The Rebels sit at 11-7-2 overall and 6-7-1 in the league.

District quick hits

Caprock head coach Tim Ufford celebrated his 100th career victory as his Longhorns beat Lubbock Coronado 9-1 and Plainview 5-1. Aldo Carrasco paced Caprock with six goals in both wins with an assist. Caprock (14-4-2) is in second place in District 3-5A at 9-3-2.

Amarillo High fell to Lubbock Monterey 2-0. The Sandies are now 8-8-2 overall and 7-7-1 in district.

In District 3-4A, Borger earned a huge 1-0 victory over district champion Perryton and knocked off Canyon 4-1. Noah Dimmitt scored a goal in each game for Borger. Borger (11-10-1) gets the fourth spot and will head to the Class 4A Division II playoffs.

Perryton did down Hereford 10-0 giving the Rangers their first ever District 3-4A title in just the third year as a program. Perryton finished the regular season at 13-7-1 overall and 11-2-1 in the league. The Rangers will head to the Class 4A Division II playoffs.

Dumas collected a 1-1 tie against West Plains and a 3-0 win against Pampa. The Demons (13-2-3) earn second place in district at 10-1-3 and will be in Class 4A Division I.

West Plains also picked up a 5-1 win against Canyon. Benjamin Williamson led the Wolves with a hattrick. West Plains (14-5-2) nabs third place at 9-3-2 in the district and will be in Class 4A Division I.
