District basketball picked up Friday night with the 3-5A boys getting underway to join the girls’ action. Take a look at busy evening across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains that included Amarillo High hosting Plainview and Tascosa playing Lubbock High.

District 3-5A Boys

Amarillo High handles Plainview

Amarillo High opened District 3-5A in a strong way by getting a 73-50 win against Plainview on Friday night at the AHS Activity Center.

The Sandies have started the year at 12-3, and are now 1-0 in league action. Plainview falls to 4-8 on the season and 0-1.

AHS got off to a fast pace in the win over the Bulldogs taking a 22-12 lead after one. The Sandies never slowed down going up 41-24 at the break.
