Thursday and Friday’s quick hits
Nazareth keeps on rolling
The Nazareth Swiftettes quest for back-to-back state championships looks to be in full tact after dismantling White Deer 83-29 to win the UIL Class 1A Division I regional quarterfinal championship Thursday night at the Tascosa Activity Center.
The Swiftettes (27-6) have now won eight straight playoff games dating back to last season, and are advancing to the regional semifinals for a matchup with Guthrie (31-3) at 6 p.m. on Monday on the campus of Lubbock-Cooper Liberty High School.
Nazareth came out of the gates hot against the Does (20-12) building a 29-13 first quarter advantage. Standout Kambri Cleavinger couldn’t miss in that opening frame, pouring in 13 of those points.

Frenship takes down Southlake Carroll
The Frenship Lady Tigers have been on fire in 2026, and that has carried on in the playoffs. Frenship jumped out to a hot start and never looked back to take down Southlake Carroll, 55-46, to win the UIL Class 6A Division II regional quarterfinal championship Friday night at the Moody Coliseum on the campus of Abilene Christian.
The Lady Tigers, who advanced to a program-best fourth round in Class 6A a year ago, are now back in the third round for a second straight year. Frenship (29-8) will see if it can keep the momentum rolling when they take on Rock Hill (22-13) in the regional semifinals at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Abilene Wylie High School.
Frenship Started off strong against a very talented Lady Dragons (31-2) team Friday, taking a 14-9 lead after one. By halftime, the Lady Tigers build that advantage to 32-20 and then were in complete control after three quarters up 47-32.
Frenship standout post Jada Jackson did her damage inside, scoring a team-high 17 points, knocking down seven field goals while going 3-of-5 from the charity stripe. Teammate Madison Phillips had six key points in the third quarter on the way to 15 on the night and Addisyn Bollinger finished with 12.
