Panhandle knocks off Wellington

In a battle between two of the top teams in Class 2A, Panhandle was able to go on the road and earn a big 48-39 win over Wellington during a District 2-2A showdown on Friday in Wellington.

This game was competitive throughout and as good as expected. The Ettes took an early 15-10 lead only to see the Skyrockets battle back, cutting the deficit 29-27 at the break. In the second half, Panhandle took the momentum in the third quarter with a 12-7 run, going up 41-34 and were able to fend off the Lady Skyrockets in the final eight minutes.

Panhandle stays on a season-long roll, improving to 24-1 overall and 4-0 in district play. Wellington suffers its first district loss, dropping to 3-1 and 19-5 on the year.
