TUESDAY’S QUICK HITS

Due to high winds and fire danger Tuesday, four games were moved from Tuesday. Bushland and Childress, along with Dalhart and Tulia were moved to Wednesday night. Gruver is taking on Sanford-Fritch on Wednesday, and Stratford will battle Spearman on Thursday.

Amarillo High and Tascosa shared the District 3-5A championship after getting wins Tuesday night. The Sandies downed Lubbock Coronado 45-22, while Tascosa took care of Caprock 66-45. It has been decided that Tascosa will be the No. 1-seed out of District 3-5A Division I and Amarillo High will be the No. 2-seed in Division I.

In a win or go home scenario, Memphis took down Quanah 61-54 at home to grab the fourth and final playoff spot out of District 2-2A. The Cyclones (20-11) will be the No. 2-seed in Division II. In that win against the Indians, Armando Saenz paced Memphis with 17 points.

Kress was able to keep its playoff hopes alive by getting a 46-31 win against Silverton in a District 4-1A game Tuesday. The Kangaroos and Owls will now meet in a play-in situation at 7 p.m. Thursday at Tulia High School.
