Here’s a look a look at the Region I girls’ basketball regional quarterfinal playoff pairings for Thursday and Friday night. There are very intriguing matchups highlighting the second round that include Frenship Memorial taking on Decatur, Canadian battling Coahoma, Panhandle will play Abernathy and Hartley going up against Miami.

Regional quarterfinals  

Division II 

El Paso Montwood (25-5) vs. Byron Nelson (23-10), 4:30 p.m. Friday, Lubbock-Cooper High School

Fort Worth Braswell (25-6) vs. Pearce (16-16), 6:30 p.m. Friday, Carrolton Creekview High School

Frenship (28-8) vs Southlake Carroll (31-1), 6:30 p.m. Friday, Moody Coliseum, Abilene Christian University 

Rock Hill (21-13) vs. Bowie (22-12), 6:30 p.m. Friday, Marcus High School

CLASS 5A
Regional quarterfinals  

Division I 

Tascosa (30-3) vs. El Paso Chapin (16-12), 5 p.m. Thursday, Monahans High School 

Aledo (25-7) vs. Joshua (34-4), 6 p.m. Thursday, Godley High School

Wichita Falls Legacy vs. vs. El Paso Americas (28-4), 6 p.m. Thursday, Andrews High School 

Denton Ryan (32-4) vs. Cleburne (26-8), 7 p.m. Friday, Arlington ISD Athletic Center
