The Texas Panhandle’s rich sports tradition isn’t just built on Friday night lights and state championships – it’s built on the coaches who dedicate their lives to developing our athletes. Today, Press Pass Sports is excited to announce our newest feature series: “Coaches Corner.”
Throughout the week, we’ll bring you in-depth looks at the remarkable coaches who call the Texas Panhandle home. From football fields to basketball courts, baseball diamonds to track ovals, we’re going beyond the scoreboard to share the stories, philosophies, and personalities that make our local coaches special.
“While we’ve been fortunate to work closely with many coaches across the Panhandle over the years, we realize our readers might not know the personal side of these influential leaders,” says Joe Garcia, managing partner of Press Pass Sports. “These features will help bridge that gap, letting our community get to know the men and women who are shaping the next generation of athletes.”
What can readers expect from Coaches Corner? Each feature will reveal:
- Personal insights from coaches across all sports
- Coaching philosophies that build champions
- Hidden talents you’d never expect
- Game day traditions and superstitions
- What makes Panhandle sports unique
- The journey that led them to coaching
As Press Pass prepares to expand coverage to the Lubbock area this fall, Coaches Corner will also serve as an introduction to the coaching talent in our growing coverage region.
“We’re excited to not only spotlight our established Panhandle coaches but also get to know the outstanding coaches in the Lubbock area,” Garcia adds.
From Class 1A to 6A, veteran coaches to rising stars, Coaches Corner will showcase the diversity and dedication of our local coaching community. These features will join our popular content lineup alongside our First United Bank Athlete of the Week spotlights and comprehensive game coverage that Press Pass readers have come to trust.
Coaches play such a pivotal role in the lives of our student-athletes, going far beyond X’s and O’s,” says Kale Steed, founder and editor-in-chief of Press Pass Sports. “They’re mentors, role models, and often the most influential voices in these young athletes’ lives. With Coaches Corner, we want to highlight these incredible individuals who dedicate their lives to developing not just better athletes, but better people.
Stay tuned for our first Coaches Corner feature, as we kick off this exciting new series with an inside look at the Panhandle’s most dynamic coaches.
