District 4-4A

West Plains stifles Dumas at home 

The West Plains Lady Wolves continue playing strong volleyball by staying undefeated in District 4-4A action with a sweep of Dumas at home on Tuesday night, 25-16, 25-9, 25-19.

The Lady Wolves keep pace with Randall, Canyon and Hereford, moving to 2-0 in district and 26-6 overall. The Demonettes fall to 15-19 overall and 0-2.

West Plains outside hitter Jayli Franklin was a mismatch for Dumas. Franklin played great at the net with a team-high kills with 12 blocks for a double-double and had a superb serving night with four aces. Teammate Zenaida Murrillo dished out 24 assists followed by Emerson Castillo with nine, and McCall Sims chipped in a game-high 15 digs with three aces. It was also a special night for both Sims and Murillo. Sims hit 1,000 digs for her career while Murillo 1,500 career assists.

Rylee Schacher led Dumas with seven kills and four blocks. Hannah Hernandez added a team-high 10 digs.

Randall keeps rolling 

The Randall Lady Raiders pushed their district win streak to 18 straight games dating back to last season after getting another convincing victory against Pampa on Tuesday night.

The No. 1-ranked Lady Raiders had no issues hosting the Pampa Lady Harvesters by getting a 25-13, 25-10, 25-12, sweep.

Randall is now 26-3 overall and 2-0 in District 4-4A. Pampa drops to 0-2 in the league and 14-12 overall.

Sidney Soria handed out 38 assists as the junior went over 2,600 assists for her career. Soria added six digs with an ace. Kenna Miller had 21 digs and a strong serving night with three aces while Haviland Valdez added five kills. Jordyn Gove was able to lead the way for Randall with 16 kills and seven digs.

Pampa’s Maecie Hawthorne earned 11 kills with eight assists.

Canyon takes care of Perryton

Canyon made quick work of Perryton at home on Tuesday with a 25-13, 25-5, 25-11 win.

Landri Jay finished with a team-high 12 digs followed by Cali Mckinley with six. Mckinley also tallied five aces and four kills. Syndee Winfrey had seven kills and two solo blocks and teammate Alainna Bellino set the offense with 11 assists.

The Lady Eagles stay atop the District 4-4A standings at 2-0 while moving to 15-14 overall. Perryton is now 2-15-2 overall and 0-2 in district.

Hereford hustles past Borger 

Hereford went on the road and came away with a sweep of Borger in a District 4-4A clash, 25-13, 25-12, 25-17, on Tuesday night at the Borger Gym.

The Lady Whitefaces (11-14 overall) stay perfect in league play moving to 2-0 overall. The Lady Bulldogs fall to 14-11 overall and 0-2.

Karizma Trevino paced Hereford with a team-high 15 digs. London Baker and Madi Madrigal combined for 38 assists. Baker totaled 24 with Madrigal finishing with 14. Kyndal Blair was impressive on the offensive end with a game-high 21 kills. Teammate Allee Purcella added 10 kills.

Despite the loss, Isabella Pena had eight digs with seven assists for Borger. Addy Bridges added six blocks with four kills and Realitee Brisco tallied 11 digs.

Non-district

Amarillo High takes out Odessa Permian 

Amarillo High didn’t make life easy for Odessa Permian which made a long road trip up to the Texas Panhandle on Tuesday night.

The Lady Sandies were anything but a gracious host by pummeling Permian in a 25-15, 25-17, 25-16, sweep.

The Lady Sandies move to 25-4 in the non-district portion of the schedule and will play at Odessa High on Friday night.

Sierra Cavalier was strong on both sides of the ball knocking down 12 kills to go with 11 digs earning a double-double effort. Ryan Pennington and Grace Hughes each added eight kills. Blair Pennington had 32 assists, Bird Moffitt tallied 11 digs and Claire Fansler performed well at the net with seven blocks.

Palo Duro sweeps Highland Park

Palo Duro took care of Highland Park in a non-district matchup at home on Tuesday night.

The Lady Dons were able to defeat the Lady Hornets in four-sets, 25-16, 25-16, 23-25, 25-14.

Palo Duro’s Syvihanna Sutton scored a double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs as she also added three blocks. Sarayah McIntosh led the team with 15 kills and Aniyah Burley paced the offense with 26 assists. Serenity Moreno finished with an impressive six aces.

River Road downs Littlefield

The River Road Lady Wildcats made a long trip down to the South Plains well worth by getting a 25-19, 25-16, 25-20 sweep of Littlefield on Tuesday.

Ava Sharp showed up in a big way with 14 digs and five kills. Reese DeHart did what she does best by handing out a game-high 27 assists with six kills and five digs. Heavan Hammett played great defense hitting the floor for digs and added three aces and Isela Delgado led the team with 13 kills with six blocks.

River Road improves to 13-8 overall.
