District play from across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains continued From Thursday through Saturday. Here’s a recap of how it all played out including Sanford-Fritch taking over first place of District 1-2A with a win against Vega. Shallowater clinched a UIL Class 3A Division I playoff spot and Borger earned its first district win.
District 1-2A
In a battle of two of the top teams in District 1-2A, it was the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles taking command of the top spot of the standings defending home court with a three-set sweep of Vega, 25-21, 25-18, 25-14, on Friday after noon at the Eagles Gym.
The Lady Eagles (18-8 overall) are now all alone in first place of the district at 3-0 while Vega (15-20) suffers its first district loss in almost two years falling to 2-1.
Morgan Lucero was clutch on the front row attacking the defense with 12 kills. Lincoln Bidwell also played well up front with seven blocks with Sydney Riggle running the offense giving out 19 assists. Defensively, Bryleigh Carr made 14 digs.

Aliyah Robinson had a special afternoon leading Highland Park to a four-set win against West Texas High, 25-19, 28-26, 19-25, 25-14, on Saturday.
Robinson totaled 11 kills with 10 digs in the victory for a double-double and added three blocks. Robinson has now gone over 500 career kills and 300 career digs.
The Lady Hornets improve to 1-2 in district and 11-20 on the year. The Lady Comanches (6-16) are still seeking their first league win dropping to 0-3.
District 1-3A
Bushland and. Dalhart continued to roll in District 1-3A. The Lady Falcons dominated Dimmitt on Thursday, 25-6, 25-5, 25-4. Berklee Billington led the Lady Falcons with 10 kills and Jori Clark tallied eight aces. Bushland (32-8) is now 5-0 in the league while Dimmitt drops to 1-24, 0-5.
Dalhart played strong at home beating Friona, 23-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-13. The Lady Wolves (28-6-2) are all alone in second place at 4-1. The Squaws (18-7) stay in third place at 2-3 in district. Kammi Maddox earned a double-double with 24 kills and and 12 assists. Reese Jenkins added eight kills and three blocks.
District 2-3A
Shallowater clinched a UIL Class 3A Division I playoff spot downing Tulia at home Saturday, 25-4, 25-6, 25-17. The Fillies stay hot in District 2-3A at a perfect 6-0 and push their overall record to 28-9. Emma Clawson had a game-high 12 kills followed by teammate Carli Buckley with 10.
Idalou stayed a game back of Shallowater with a home win against Littlefield, 25-18, 25-14, 25-19. The Lady Wildcats are 5-1 in district and 21-13 overall. Hadley Underwood and Kambrie Roye each had five kills to pace Idalou.
Childress remained in third place by going on the road and taking down Lubbock Talkington 25-23, 25-16, 25-15. Journey Prince played excellent for the Lady Bobcats knocking down 18 kills with a pair of aces. Childress (16-18) is now 4-2 in league play.
District 4-4A
West Plains and Canyon remained all tied up in second place of District 4-4A and also clinched playoff spots after picking up wins on Saturday afternoon.
West Plains had no issues taking the season series from Hereford beating the Lady Whitefaces 25-12, 25-17, 25-22. The Lady Wolves (26-11) are now 8-2 in district play.
Kynzie Ward and Aaniyah Kitchen once again led the offense combining for 23 kills. Ward finished with a team-best 12 and Kitchen added 11. Cecilia Murillo quarterbacked the offense with 21 assists and Idaly Sotelo was all over the court getting 26 digs.
Like West Plains, Canyon had no problems beating Perryton 25-13, 25-9, 25-20. The Lady Eagles are also 8-2 in the league and 18-14 overall. Aiva Kerr served well with three aces and added eight digs. Laney Jones had 14 kills and six digs while Neelie Henson chipped in with eight kills.
Randall remains undefeated in District 4-4A with a victory at Dumas, 18-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-12. The Lady Raiders are a perfect 10-0 in district and 24-12 overall. Kambree Gonzalez had 18 digs for the Lady Raiders and Chloe Brown totaled 11 kills. Dumas (19-17) still has a stronghold on the fourth and final playoff spot at 6-4.
Borger picked up its first district win knocking off rival Pampa on Saturday, 21-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-17, 15-12. Emma McKinney did her part for the Lady Bulldogs powering down 11 kills with five digs. Teammate Addyson Bridges followed with eight kills and four digs.

District 3-5A
The Lubbock-Cooper Lady Pirates are hot and stayed that way beating Caprock at home, 25-6, 25-10, 25-17, on Friday. Lubbock-Cooper (21-10) stays in third place of District 3-5A at 9-3 with the victory. Broox Lopez handed out 25 assists against the Lady Longhorns putting her at over 1,500 for her stellar career. She also added five aces.
Tascosa is playoff bound thanks to a 25-13, 25-13, 25-13, win against Lubbock Monterey. The Lady Rebels stay a game back of Amarillo High in the standings at 11-1 while moving to 24-9 overall. Berkley Harper pounded down 13 kills for the Lady Rebels and Addison Merrell handed out 27 assists.
In two other district games Friday, Amarillo High defeated Lubbock High, 25-7, 25-4, 25-9, and Plainview took down Palo Duro, 25-17, 25-17, 24-26, 25-18.
District 1-1A
Fort Elliott, Miami, Shamrock and Wildorodo all picked up wins Saturday.
The Lady Cougars stay in first place beating Channing 25-5, 25-2, 25-5. Fort Elliott finished (24-6, 10-0) the contest with 28 total aces.
Miami beat Kelton 25-12, 25-18, 25-12. The Lady Warriors (17-6, 9-1) Bentley Brooks go for 21 assists and 14 digs for a double-double.
Shamrock stayed in a third-place tie with Wildorado getting a win against White Deer, 25-22, 25-14, 25-19. The Lady Irish (10-9, 5-5) had a big outing from Rubi Lopez who hit the floor with 15 digs. Teammate Ruby Baggett added seven kills.
In one other score, Wildorado swept Darrouzett, 25-10, 25-8, 25-4. The Lady Mustangs (8-19) are now 5-5 in the league.
Weekend quick hits
Lubbock-Cooper Liberty rolled by Big Spring for a three-set sweep 25-12, 25-12, 25-6. The Lady Patriots (36-2) are inching closer to capturing the District 5-4A title at 9-0 in the league.
Midland High upended Frenship on Friday, 25-15, 25-12, 25-19. The Lady Tigers fall to 24-14 and 4-2 in District 2-6A.
San Jacinto Christian Academy picked up a win three-set sweep of Southcrest Christian 25-14, 25-23, 25-11. The Lady Patriots are now 28-5 and 10-1 in TAPPS District 1-2A. Blayne Robison did an amazing job running the offense with 31 assists. Jaxsyn Amero tallied a double-double with 11 digs and 10 kills.
In one other TAPPS score, All Saints swept Ascension Academy 25-3, 25-3, 25-7.
