Week 5 of the Texas High School football season is in the books with some teams from the Texas Panhandle and South Plains getting big wins and big individual performances. Check out recaps from Class 6A to Class 2A including Tascosa winning its district opener, Plainview stunning Lubbock-Cooper, Panhandle’s shutout of Wellington and Farwell winning a thriller against Post.

Frenship rolls over Midland Christian

The Frenship Tigers remained on a serious roll offensively Friday night.

Frenship hosted Midland Christian as the Tigers had their final tune-up prior to starting District 2-6A play. For the third straight game, they went over 40 points, as they cruised to a 41-13 victory.

Isaiah Gilliam had a big game catching the ball for Frenship (2-3) with four catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Braden Dunkerson also ran for two touchdowns.

Unlike the previous week’s 57-56 loss to Lubbock-Cooper, the Tigers also played some defense against Midland Christian, giving up only 233 total yards of offense.
