On the court: The four-year standout and Southwestern Oklahoma State signee has picked up where she left off last season.

Russell showed off her versatility and prolific scoring ability in wins over Claude and Lefors last week. Against the Lady Stangs the senior poured in 29 points to go with seven boards and three steals. In a victory over Lefors, Russell posted an eye-opening 44 points with nine rebounds, eight steals and seven assists.

For her career, Russell is closing in on the 1,800 points.

Coach Jordan Parsons: “Kasidy is under a new system with me being the new head coach. She has transitioned flawlessly and is a true leader for this team. She helps us so much taking on double teams and that allows her to find the open teammate and she takes very good shots. Kasidy is patient on offense and the game has really slowed down for her.”

Russell: “We’re playing great as a team and we’re exactly where we want to be. Being the only senior comes with a lot of expectation, but we’ve had younger players step up and fill big shoes. I’m just fortunate to be with the team I’m with. The biggest improvement in my game from last year is I’m much more relaxed on the floor. I used to put a lot of pressure on myself but now I’m just going out and having fun. That has made things a lot better.”
