On the court: Though the Randall Lady Raiders season came to an end at the hands of Eagle Mountain on Tuesday night, it doesn’t discredit the playoff run or the season Chloe Brown put together.

Brown had a tremendous past week guiding Randall to wins against Fabens and Krum in the regional quarterfinal and regional semifinal. Brown posted two double-double efforts in those victories. Against Fabens, the fabulous freshman knocked down 12 kills with 10 digs and then against Krum, had a massive game with 28 kills to go with 15 digs.

Brown ended a fantastic freshman campaign with 445 kills, 399 digs and 35 blocks.

Head coach Karli Morrison: “Chloe has a come a long way from the first of the year. This young team took some lumps. We had some players quit in August and she had to fill a bigger role than expected. What I love about Chloe, is she isn’t scared of the pressure. Her parents had her ready and she is a great listener. She adjusts to any situation and has a very solid foundation. I think we saw a lot of growth during district from her, especially against Hereford, and her IQ for the game is very high. I can’t wait to see the player she’ll be in the future.”

Brown: “It was a really exciting season for us. The upperclassmen were very welcoming and coach (Karli) Morrison has been there with me all year to help me improve. I’ve really worked on my blocking and footwork all year and I think that is what has helped me the most get better. I also have incredible teammates around me.”
