Addison Bell, Stratford basketball, Jr.

On the court: Bell led the Lady Elks to a big week claiming a win over West Texas High on Tuesday followed by a massive win over Gruver 42-19 last Friday. It was Stratford’s first win over the Lady Hounds since 2018. Bell scored a game-high 20 points with nine rebounds and five assists against the Lady Comanches then turned around and went for a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards against the Lady Hounds adding two assists.

On the year, the junior is averaging 10.4 points a game while cleaning the glass for eight rebounds a night.

Coach Lance Horsford: “This has been one of my favorite teams to coach in my 30 years of doing this. We are very good defensively and getting better on offense. Addison has been a starter since her freshman year and has been a big hand for us. This year, she has become a leader and is an extremely good defensive player. Her offense is coming along, and she shows up every night and gives everything she has.”

Bell: “We’ve been having really good practices and I feel like this team gets along well. There is a great chemistry with this team. I’ve come a long way and I’m a lot more confident as a player. I’m lucky to have the coaches I have, and they’ve made me a much better defensive player. I’m still learning how to score but one thing I’ve learned is I’m not afraid to make a play and take a chance.”
