Randall’s Brianna Ford nabs the first ever Press Pass Sports Volleyball Player of the Year honor in only what could be described as a dominant season.

The 6-foot-1 powerful outside hitter had a season to remember from all standpoints.

First, and most importantly, Ford was a huge reason the Lady Raiders were 43-4 overall, 16-0 in District 3-5A and advanced to the UIL Class 5A state championship game.

“She’s a coaches dream,” Randall coach Haleigh Burns said. “She works hard and her mentality is always about winning. She makes the best of any situation, and she’s a great leader. She’s put so much into Randall volleyball and was a great role model.”

Ford accomplishments speak for themselves. The hard-hitting Ford ended her season with 479 kills, 391 digs, 102 blocks and 56 aces.

“Bri is the best when she’s playing at the highest level,” teammate Zoe Parker said. “Coach (Haleigh) Burns style was helpful for her. It was big for confidence and having her always by her side was a game changer. Ive played with Bri since seventh grade and it’s fun to see how much she grown.”

Ford was the unanimous District 3-5A MVP this season, the Region I-5A Tournament MVP, and was named to the Class 5A state all-tournament team.

Recently, Ford also was named a Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State selection.

“This season meant so much to me,” Ford said. “Being able to adjust and bond to a new coach was big for me. I think I grew a lot. Going from injuries the last three years, and finally being healthy allowed me to play at my full ability and leave my heart out there.
