On the hardwood: Rodriguez had a stellar week leading the Dumas Demonettes to District 4-4A wins against Canyon and Borger.

The middle blocker had a combined total of 19 kills in both matches with 11 blocks go with seven digs, three aces and two assists.

On the season, the senior leader, and three-year varsity standout, has been a valuable weapon for a Dumas team that is 29-11 overall, piling up 201 kills with 125 blocks, 33 aces, adding seven assists.

Coach Brittani James: “Brenley is a player we know we can always go to. She does an outstanding job in the middle for us, and we can always depend on her in the big moments. Her leadership has really stepped up this season. She wants a scholarship, and she’s playing great. Even when things don’t go well for us she’s the first one on the court to get everyone together and settle them down. I’m proud of her.”

Rodriguez: “We’ve definitely pulled together this year and increased our level of play. I feel this team has really come together that way. The team has come along, and I feel I’ve really come along because of the team effort. I also love playing for coach (Brittani) James. She’s motivated me to become a better player and leader on the floor.”
