Palo Duro climbed back to the .500 mark on the year blanking the Borger Bulldogs 22-0 at a rain soaked Dick Bivins Stadium on Thursday night.

Thanks to mother nature the game started an hour late, and saw more than a 30 minute lightning delay at the 4:48 mark of the third quarter. After more rain and lightning rolled through not 30 minutes after play resumed, the game was finally declared over with 0:16 remaining in the third.

The Dons get a much needed win improving to 2-2 on the season. Borger falls to 1-3.

It was a quite yet quick first quarter with neither team getting on the board, however, Palo Duro changed that putting up 16 of its 22 points in the second stanza.

On a sluggish night for offense due to slick conditions, the Dons took advantage of solid field on back-to-back drives. Leading 2-0 off a safety, Anthony Randle dashed right then bounced back left using his blockers for a flashy 13-yard touchdown run, extending the lead, 9-0.

On the ensuing possession, quarterback Dondray DeGrate made a gorgeous throw down the sideline connecting with Israel Guevara on a 30-yard TD strike in the corner of the endzone, putting the lead at 16-0.

DONS D DELIVERED

Borger was able to move the ball into Dons territory in the first half, but the Palo Duro defense never broke. Palo Duro kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard holding Borger to

1 of 7 passing for nine yards and 120 yards for the game.
