District 4-4A girls basketball roundup – Pampa beats Perryton, Canyon cruises past Borger

Pampa handles Perryton

The Pampa Lady Harvesters closed out the district season before the Christmas break by going on the road and getting a double-digit win at Perryton 57-44 on Thursday night.

The Lady Harvesters have put back-to-back victories moving to 2-2 in District 4-4A and 12-5 overall. Perryton (9-9 overall) is still seeking its first district win falling to 0-4.

Pampa was able to break open a close game with a strong fourth quarter. Leading by two at halftime and by only four-points after three, the Lady Harvesters broke the game open by outscoring the Rangerettes 20-11 in the final frame.

Cambree Dyer was superb in the Lady Harvesters win scoring a game-high 18 points with teammate Berlin Bartlett chipping in 15.

Canyon clubs Borger 

Canyon heads into the Christmas break flying high with staying undefeated in District 4-4A with a lopsided 79-21 win at Borger on Friday afternoon.

Jaylee Moss continued her hot start to league play registering a game-high 23 points. Tai Wright followed with 13, Sydnee Winfrey scored 12 and Brooklyn Kinsey added 11.

Canyon stays tied atop the district standings with Randall at 4-0 while improving to 13-4 overall. Borger drops to 9-7 overall and 1-3 in 4-4A.

Hereford rolls past Dumas 

Hereford bounced back after suffering its first district loss at Pampa on Tuesday getting a much-needed road victory 42-20 at Dumas on Thursday night.

The Lady Whitefaces used a strong start going up 11-0 after one then built a 22-6 halftime advantage. Mitzel Rodriguez paced Hereford with a game-high 13 points.

Hereford enters the Christmas break at 13-6 overall and 3-1 in District 4-4A. Dumas falls to 3-15, 0-4.
