On the mat: White played a huge role in getting the Randall Raiders a District 3-5A team championship last Friday night at the Caprock Activity Center.

The junior made a huge splash wrestling out of the 132-pound weight division by going a perfect 4-0 during the meet that included a sudden victory to claim his first ever individual district championship over two-time Class 5A state champion Hunter Bogner of Dumas.

On the year, who is a two-time state qualifier, has compiled a record of 30-8 on the season.

Coach David Quirino“Kason had a major accomplishment at the district meet. He was taking on a two-time state champion in Hunter Bogner. Hunter is tough as nails and Kason was able to go out there at the end of a long day and get the win. It was great for us and if he doesn’t do that, we don’t win district. Just to see him beat someone of that caliber is motivational. The team exploded when he won. They know how hard he works, and we just want to see him get better.”

White: “It meant a lot to me to win that. I’ve been working hard all season, and it was awesome to see it all pay off. It was awesome to beat Hunter. He’s unbelievable and someone I’ve been going after for the past couple of weeks. I was really calm more than confident going into that match. I think this Randall team is really good and go back down to state and win.”
