3 things that happened on Tuesday night

Tascosa continues to make noise in 3-5A

The Tascosa Rebels stayed hot by getting a big 93-73 road win at Palo Duro on Tuesday night.

The Rebels have now won three straight district games after an 0-2 start, improving to 3-2 in District 3-5A and 14-14 overall. Jaylin Sledge outmatched the Dons pouring in a career-high 35 points in the win. Teammate Devayne Johnson added 20 and Will Dickerson chipped in 12. Palo Duro falls to 15-9, 3-2.

District 4-4A middle of the pack heats up

Canyon has established itself as the top dog in District 4-4A and Randall has a strong hold on second, but which team is going to grab the final two playoff spots?

West Plains knocked off Hereford, 54-47, on Tuesday, and Dumas upended Perryton 72-61, making things very interesting for the middle of the pack. West Plains (18-11), Hereford (19-7), and Perryton (12-11) are all 5-5 with four games remaining with only two of those teams able to clinch a playoff berth.

Tuesday’s top performers

Childress standout Lamont Nickleberry racked up 27 points that lifted the Bobcats past Abernathy on the road 61-44.

Haiden Thompson of Miami put up a game-high 26 points as the Warriors blew out Darrouzett 75-38.

Bushland’s Grant Whaley had a game-high 18 points in a 46-31 win against River Road.
