The Texas Panhandle and South Plains took quite the hit during the third round of high school volleyball playoff action from Thursday through Saturday. When the dust settled, only Randall and Bushland remain standings with both teams advancing to the regional finals.
Class 3A
The tradition-rich Bushland Lady Falcons are soaring on to the regional championship once again.
The Lady Falcons put away Jim Ned with ease during a Class 3A Division I regional semifinal on Saturday in Childress, getting a 25-9, 25-20, 25-22.
Bushland, which has won 16 straight postseason matches dating back to 2023 and will play in their seventh straight regional championship under head coach Jason Culpepper, will take on Peaster (38-12-1) in the Region I-3A Division I championship at a time and place to be determined.
Laynee Adams highlighted the Lady Falcons with her effort on the front row and the back row. Adams was powerful at the net with 11 kills and clutch on the back end with 15 digs for a double-double. Speaking of defense, Ava Permenter was all over the court chasing down 40 digs and Dani Campbell played big with six blocks. Morgan Eberly paced the offense with 26 assists.

The Shallowater Fillies put up a fight, however, it wasn’t enough falling to Peaster 25-20, 30-28, 25-23, during a UIL Class 3A Division I regional semifinal on Friday nigh at Munday High School.
The Fillies, the District 2-3A champions, end a tremendous season at 35-10.
Emma Clawson and Carli Buckley did all the could to help Shallowater in the loss. Clawson landed a team-best 14 kills while Buckley added 10 kills and five digs. Teammate Taylor Wood had a team-high 29 digs in the match.
In Division II, Idalou couldn’t stay with Wall, falling to the Lady Hawks in the regional semifinals, 25-13, 25-18, 25-14, in the regional semifinals at Synder on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats end the year at 26-16.
Class 4A
The Randall Lady Raiders are the lone UIL Class 4A team still standing from the Texas Panhandle after taking care of Krum during a Division II regional semifinal match, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 27-25, on Thursday in Vernon.
The Lady Raiders took over the momentum in third set which carried the victory. The offense was rolling for Randall behind the powerful hitting of Amber Matthews and Chloe Brown. Brown, the outstanding freshman, was huge on the front row with a game-high 28 kills and played extremely well on defense with 15 digs for a double-double.
Matthews was also aggressive at the net slamming down 18 kills with three blocks. Bennet Moore and Madelyn Sisomsouk made to feed the hitters, combining for 49 assists. Moore totaled a game-high 28 and Sisomsouk chipped in with 21. Kambree Gonzalez not only served three aces but carried the defense with 19 digs.
The Lady Raiders (2914) are headed back to the Region I-4A Division II championship game for a third straight year, and will face Eagle Mountain (35-11) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sweetwater High School.
Eagle Mountain was able to sweep Randall’s rival Canyon in a regional semifinal Thursday by a 25-18, 25-14, 25-10, in Colorado City.
The Lady Eagles finish a strong year at 22-16 overall. Despite the loss, Laney Jones did what she could as the outside hitter powered down 13 kills with 12 digs for a double-double. Teammate Klair Stone registered 21 digs with three kills.
In Division I, West Plains saw another great year come to an end, falling to UIL Class 4A Division I state champion Decatur, 25-23, 25-23, 25-16, during a regional semifinal in Childress.
The Lady Wolves, the District 4-4A co-champions, end the season at 32-12. Aaniyah Kitchen led the team with 11 kills and three blocks. Teagan Hudson added eight kills and Cecilia Murillo tallied a double-double, passing around 20 assists to go with 11 digs.
CLASS 5A
Birdville was too much for Tascosa to handle, as the Lady Rebels came up short in the UIL Class 5A Division I regional semifinal.
The Lady Hawks took over down the stretch in the first set and never looked back for a thre-set sweep of the Lady Rebels, 25-21, 25-21, 25-16, at Childress High School on Thursday.
Tascosa, the District 3-5A runner-up, ends the year at 29-12 overall. Avery Scalf and Berkley Harper each had eight kills for the Lady Rebels, teammate Libby Miller had 22 assists and Bennet Berryman led the team with 15 kills.
Amarillo High suffered the same fate as Tascosa, seeing a fantastic year come to an end by the hands of Aledo in four-sets, 26-24, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.
The Lady Sandies, the District 3-5A champions that will carry a 67-match league win streak into next fall, finish the season with an overall mark of 33-8.
Sophomore Harper Vaughn showed how great she can be against Aledo as a complete force at the net with 22 kills to go along with eight blocks. Vaughn also handed out 20 assists for a double-double. Kinsler Hanson left it all on the court in her final match with the senior hammering down 15 kills on top of 16 digs for a double-double.
In Division II, Grapevine was able to take care of Lubbock-Cooper, bringing the Lady Pirates season to an end in four-sets, 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, in a Class 5A Division II regional semifinal at Wichita Falls Memorial High School.
Lady Pirate setter Broox Lopez put together a solid effort with 33 assists and 11 digs for a double-double. Teammate Konli Johnson hit the floor for 10 digs and added five kills.
Cooper finishes the 2025 campaign with a 25-13 mark overall.
Class 1A
Miami and Fort Elliott both suffered losses in the Class 1A regional quarterfinals Friday and Saturday.
The Lady Cougars went back-and-forth with Buena Vista but fell short in a thrilling five-set match, 25-15, 25-23, 24-26, 22-25, 12-15. The Lady Cougars, who were the District 1-1A champions, end the season at 29-7.
Miami ended up being swept by Klondike on Saturday in the regional quarterfinals, 25-12, 25-15, 26-24.
The Lady Warriors end the season with a 22-8 overall mark. Bentley Brooks did tally a double-double for the Lady Warriors despite the loss with 15 digs and 10 assists. Harper Hale had 13 digs and Brylee Thompson registered nine assists and seven kills.
