High School Team Tennis playoff roundup – Amarillo High, Canyon lead large Texas Panhandle and South Plains contingent in playoffs

The first two rounds of the UIL Team Tennis playoffs are in the books and area teams in the Texas Panhandle and South Plains have made their mark. Squads will compete in regional quarterfinal action on Monday and Tuesday with a chance to play in this weekends regional tournaments.

Class 5A

Amarillo High dispatched Abilene Cooper and El Paso Bel Air in the first two rounds to move into the Regional Quarterfinals.  The No. 8-ranked Sandie netters will now get their biggest test of the year as they face the state’s top ranked team in Abilene Wylie, Tuesday at 10 a.m. on the courts of Lubbock Cooper Liberty.
