Week 7 not only brought the first full week of district play across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains but it also brought some major individual highlights. Take a look at the players that stood out.
Alejandro Casas, Stratford, RB-LB, Soph.
The Stratford Elks put Region I on notice getting a huge 40-27 home win against Gruver in the District 1-2A Division I opener. Casas was the workhorse of this statement win for the Elks. Offensively, Casas ran behind a strong offensive line piling up 107 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns. Defensively, the linebacker had 19 tackles, had an interception and blocked a punt.

Carpio put up video game numbers during Dimmitt’s wild 70-54 win in the District 1-3A Division II opener. Helping lead the Bobcats offense to over 800 yards, Carpio was called upon time and time again and he delivered, especially on the ground. Tulia had no answer for the junior dual-threat QB as Carpio chewed up the Hornets for an eye-popping 479 yards rushing on 40 carries with seven touchdowns. He also threw for another 134 yards with a score.
Josue Sigala, Muleshoe, QB-RB, Jr.
Sigala had his number called on almost every offensive snap by head coach Bo Dickinson and he stepped up on every occasion. Behind Sigala, Muleshoe was able to snap a four-game losing skid getting a thrilling a 55-49 district win over Lubbock Roosevelt. Sigala ended his incredible night running the ball 33 times for 376 yards with six touchdowns including the game-winner in overtime.
Raymond Johnson V, Palo Duro, RB, Jr.
Palo Duro continues to impress with a strong start to District 2-5A Division II play. On Friday night, the Dons picked up a late score and held off Abilene Wylie 42-35 to stay unbeaten in the league. Johnson was a catalyst in that win rushing the ball 19 times for 131 yards with three touchdowns including the eventual game-winner from 11-yards out with under a minute to play.
Chase Campbell, Frenship, WR, Sr.
The Texas Tech commit continues to show why he is one of the most explosive players from Amarillo to the Metroplex. During the Tigers clutch 42-31 win at Midland High to open district Friday, Campbell was a complete mismatch for the Bulldogs snagging 11 catches for 147 yards with three touchdowns. He also ran for another score.
Jevin Gallegos, Randall, LB, Soph.
Behind Gallegos and the Randall defense, the Raiders were able to kick off District 2-4A Division I action beating Dumas at home 27-14. Gallegos not only made seven tackles but had a strip sack where he returned it over 70 yards that set up a touchdown, and then ran back an interception 80 yards for a score.
Dallas Sumner, New Deal, QB, Sr.
New Deal caught major attention with a 34-21 win against state-ranked Post on Friday night. Sumner made sure he was going to do whatever it took to get the win over the Bold Gold. Sumner did damage with his arm going 13-of-23 for 182 yards with a pair of touchdowns, then used his speed to eat up the Antelopes defense rushing for 118 yards on 16 carries.
Kobe Goodloe, Hereford, RB, Sr.
It was the start the Hereford Whitefaces were looking for to open District 2-4A Division I getting a 31-14 road win at Pampa. Hereford used a balanced attack to get the win and when it came to the run game, head coach Adam Naron relied heavily on Goodloe. The senior carried the workload Friday carrying the ball 25 times for 150 yards with two touchdowns.
Jace Moon, Shamrock, QB, Soph.
The Shamrock Irish picked up their first win of the 2025 season outscoring Memphis 46-33 on Friday. The win also kept the Irish in the hunt for a playoff berth. Moon was on fire the entire night picking a part the Cyclones secondary going 25-of-35 for 489 yards with six touchdowns.
Kaiden Joseph, Lubbock-Cooper Liberty, RB, Soph.
Lubbock-Cooper Liberty made a four-plus hour bus drive well worth it in a dominating 56-14 against Perryton during a District 2-4A Division II opener. The Patriots wore down the Rangers behind a massive offensive line and the effort from Joseph that rushed for 122 yards on only six carries that included a 70-yard touchdown scamper.
