Perryton Rangers, Hooker Lady Bulldogs win Wolf Creek Cross Country Classic

The Perryton Rangers and the Hooker, Okla., Lady Bulldogs came home winners of the Wolf Creek Cross Country Classic on Saturday afternoon.

On the boys side, the Rangers totaling 17 points to win the meet with second place Pampa coming in second with 59 points. Guymon, Okla., was third with 90 points.

Perryton dominated the meet placing five runners in the top 10 and grabbing the top four spots led by sophomore standout Jacob Erickson. Erickson won the meet handily clocking an impressive time of 15:49.6 which was over a minute faster than teammate Ethan Ruelas, who was second overall with a time of 17:08.5. Erickson is only the second runner to go under 16 minutes in Wolf Creek history.

Perryton’s Alex Grajeda was third with a time of 17:09.1, Max Esquivel was fourth from Perryton (17:21.9) and the team was rounded out by Enrique Cannsino with an eighth-place finish (17:48.3).
