District 3-5A carried on Friday and Saturday as did non-district action. Check out the results from the Texas Panhandle and South Plains teams that saw action from Amarillo High taking on Caprock, Lubbock Coronado was battling Palo Duro, Tascosa stepped out of district to battle Canyon and Bushland took on Hereford.
District 3-5A
Amarillo High keeps on cruising
Amarillo High kept its foot on the gas getting a sweep of Caprock on Friday, 25-5, 25-5, 25-11.
The Lady Sandies stay tied with Tascosa atop the District 3-5A standings at 4-0 while moving to 17-8 overall. AHS also pushes its district win streak to 56 straight dating back to 2020. Caprock (10-10) is still looking for its first league win falling to 0-4.

Harper Vaughn is a shining star so far for the Lady Sandies. The sophomore had 14 assists with 11 kills for a double-double performance. Grace Hughes and Kinsleigh Payne each had seven kills, and Bennett Rea added 15 assists.
Lubbock Coronado, Lubbock Monterey and Lubbock-Cooper get wins
The Lubbock-area schools all picked up wins on Friday and Saturday. Lubbock Coronodo topped Palo Duro, 25-17, 25-17, 25-12. Lubbock Monterey swept Lubbock High, 25-17, 28-26, 25-15, and Lubbock-Cooper knocked off Plainview 25-21, 25-14, 25-15.
With the wins, Coronado is now 14-13 overall and 3-1 in District 3-5A while Monterey improves to 20-8 overall and 3-1 in the league and Cooper is 14-8 and 2-1.
Malory Holman led the Lady Mustangs against Palo Duro with 15 kills and six aces. The Lady Plainsman saw Gabbi Garcia knock down eight kills and Broox Lopez dished out 29 assists with six kills for the Lady Pirates.

Non-district quick hits
Tascosa stepped out of District 3-5A play and defeated Canyon 27-25, 25-22, 28-26 on Saturday. The Lady Rebels (16-8) were paced by Bennet Berryman’s 24 digs and Harlan Singleton’s 11 assists. Canyon’s Laney Jones had 20 kills and 12 digs to walk away with a double-double.
West Plains went on the road and picked up a four-set win against Shallowater 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18. The Lady Wolves (18-8) had powerful offensive outings from Kynzie Ward and Aaniyah Kitchen. The duo combined for 40 kills with each knocking down 20 apiece. Kitchen was also strong at the net getting six blocks. Idaly Sotelo chipped in 20 digs with three aces. Shallowater’s (19-7) Aniston VanAtta had a double-double with 21 assists and 11 digs.
Lubbock-Cooper Liberty closed out non-district play with a win against Randall, 25-20, 15-25, 25-8, 25-18, on Saturday. The Patriots will start district Tuesday with a 26-2 overall mark. Randall fell to 14-12. Campbell Beeler had nine kills for Liberty. Chloe Brown had a team-high 11 kills for Randall.
Bushland downed Hereford in four sets, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-14, on Saturday. Berklee Billington had 16 kills to pace the Lady Falcons. Jori Clark added 12 kills, and Morgan Eberly led the way with 30 assists. Hereford’s Lilly Madrigal quarterbacked the offense with 30 assists.
River Road won a pair of matches beating Memphis and Highland Park on Saturday. The Lady Wildcats defeated Memphis, 25-9, 25-5, 25-18 and then Highland Park, 25-16, 25-19, 25-13. River Road is now 17-9 on the season after the two wins. Kaydee Upchurch was incredible from the serving line with 16 total aces and Mollie Mayes had 25 assists. Neveah Winn tallied 13 kills, and Harlea Adams hit the floor for 23 digs.
Highland Park did beat Memphis in the other game, 25-12, 25-14, 25-10. The Lady Hornets are now 9-13 on the year. In that win against the Lady Cyclones, Jade Flores had eight kills and Aliyah Robinson added seven. Teammate Kaitlin Lucas added nine digs.
Pampa defeated Dalhart in four sets Saturday, 25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 26-24. The Lady Harvesters are now 14-6 overall.
