28 Years of Coaching and Counting

Kurt Haberthur, affectionately known as “Coach Hab” by his players, has dedicated nearly three decades to coaching football and track. With previous stops at Perryton, Amarillo High, Sunray, Randall, and Pampa, Coach Hab brings a wealth of experience to Gruver.

One of his proudest moments came in 2024 when his team won a thrilling quarterfinal game. Facing tough opponents like Stratford and Muenster has only strengthened his resolve to lead his team to success.

Coach Hab has a few quirks that make him stand out. On game days, he always carries a black Expo marker in his pocket—a simple superstition that keeps him grounded.
