Bushland exploded for 41 first half points on its way to a convincing 61-8 victory against Dalhart on Friday night at Falcons Stadium.
The Falcons are now 2-0 on the year while the Golden Wolves fall to 1-1.
Bushland put up 17 points in the first quarter then turned on the gas for a 24 point second quarter. Quarterback Jared Thomas has a career night in the win, throwing for 334 yards and seven touchdown passes. Skyler Jaco hauled in two scores on plays of 60 and 46 yards.

Canadian routes River Road
After a serious contest against West Texas High, the Canadian Wildcats were more in control this week beating River Road in their home opener 42-14 Friday night at Wildcats Stadium.
River Road (0-2) seemingly had no answer for a relentless Canadian team on either side of the ball.
The Canadian offense rolled in the first half, acquiring 42 unanswered points . Senior quarterback Grant McCook led the charge, completing 11 passes for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Running back Jake Kreihbiel added two touchdowns in the big home-opening win.
The No. 3-ranked Wildcats improve to 2-0.

Early start propels West Texas High over Stratford
As predicted, the West Texas High, Stratford game was be one for the books, as the Comanches defeated the Elks in a 32-27 nailbiter at E.L. Sam Bass Stadium on Friday night.
The Comanches have had two hard-fought games in back to back weeks, after putting up an impressive fight against the Class 3A powerhouse Canadian and defeating a tough Stratford Elk team.
It was an exciting match-up for the two teams, as Stratford’s late game surge nearly resulted in a comeback victory over the Comanches.
Senior receiver Jaykob Hernandez was a do-it-all performer for the Comanches totalling 13 catches, 80 yards, and two touchdowns. Hernandez also had a big score late in the fourth that gave WT High some breathing room, extending the lead to 32-20 with 1:40 to play.
Stratford’s Walker McBryde threw for 251 yards and two scores.
The Elks fall to 1-1 overall. The Comanches are now 1-1.

Pampa upset bid falls short to Estacado
It was a matchup of two great offenses that did not disappoint. But in the end Pampa’s upset bid fell short to Lubbock Estacado, 30-24, on Friday night at Harvesters Stadium.
The Harvesters (0-2) were able to get ahead early in the game scoring two first quarter touchdowns.
It was the defense that struggled, allowing a score in every quarter against Estacado. In the end, the running back tandem of Jay’lon and Jeremiah Dobbins proved too much for the Harvester defense, as the two Estacado stars delivered on four touchdown carries. The Matadors improve to 2-0 overall.
Perryton gets past Childress
In a tough defensive matchup, the Perryton Rangers were able to defend their home turf with a 22-14 win against Childress on Friday night.
Perryton improves to 1-1 overall while the Bobcats fall to 0-2.
Rangers do-it-all player Kenny Ramirez was clutch, kicking three field goals of 45, 27 and 26 yards, giving Perryton all nine of its first half points.
in the second half, Ramirez also punched in a touchdown on an 8-yard pass from Ethan Kerl. Kerl was 13-of-20 for 177 yards and a TD. Ramirez had 3 catches for 54 yards and a touchdown.
Panhandle rolls past Memphis
It was a quick night of work for the Panhandle Panthers in a 50-7 blowout win against Memphis at Cyclones Stadium on Friday.
The Panthers (2-0) opened the game up with a 28-0 first quarter lead. Quarterback Wesley Jones threw for 252 yards and four touchdown tosses. Receiver Zach Wood caught three balls for 102 yards and a score.
Memphis (0-2) mustered 44 yards of offense in the loss.
Vega rolls in the 54th meeting of Oldham County Championship
Vega’s spectacular run game was able to dominate the Roughriders during a 61-0 thumping on Friday night in Boys Ranch.
The Longhorns relied on a run game that piled up 309 yards on the night. They finish this one with six touchdowns on the ground, led by Riley Tiemann who had 25 carries for 150 yards and a score.
Vega now leads in the Oldham County Championship series 29-24-1.
Gruver blanks Sunray
The Gruver Greyhounds are off to a 2-0 start thanks to a 54-0 shutout against Sunray on Friday at Greyhounds Stadium.
The Greyhounds totaled 468 total yards to Sunray‘s 41 offensive yards
Oklahoma commit and Gruver senior QB Jalin Conyers threw for 199 yards with two scores and rushed for 112 yards and three more TDs.
Sunray falls to 0-2.
