Marrell found his rhythm and then some not only guiding Bushland out of an offensive slump, but also leading one of the most memorable comebacks in recent memory. Bushland trailed No. 2 Canadian 35-7 at halftime only to rally back behind the arm of Marrell for a thrilling 49-42 overtime road win. Marrell was stellar during his career performance going 19-of-28 for 387 yards with four touchdown passes. He also ran for 102 yards on 19 totes with a score.
Corey Stancell, Farwell, RB, So.
Stancell was the story in the Steers 62-0 thumping of Sudan. Any time the sophomore touched the ball the Hornets were outmatched as Stancell plowed his way to a career-high 355 yards rushing with five touchdowns on his 16 carries. All five of Stancell’s touchdowns came from more than 40 yards or more.
Kameron Brown, Palo Duro, LB, Jr.
The talented junior was flying to the football during the Dons dominating 39-14 beatdown of Wichita Falls High on Friday night in their home opener. Brown is a big reason why Palo Duro is 3-0 for the first time since 2012, swarming the Coyotes offense for 10 tackles, including three for losses, a sack, an interception and a blocked extra point.
Ryan Grawunder, Vega, QB, Sr.
Vega snapped a four-year losing streak to Panhandle thanks to an offensive explosion during a 59-36 win. Grawunder was unstoppable as the senior torched the Panthers with his legs as well as his arm. Grawunder completed 8-of-11 passes for 210 yards and two scores, while adding 140 rushing yards on 14 carries with four more TDs.

Jameson Garcia, Amarillo High, WR, Jr.
The junior wide out had a breakout performance helping Amarillo High take down Bell Street rival, Randall, 35-28, on Friday night. The explosive Garcia gave the Raiders secondary fits snagging five catches for 197 yards with two touchdown catches of 44 and 40-yards.
Kobi Hill, Caprock, WR, Sr.
There was no stopping Hill from getting Caprock its first win of the season as the Longhorns got past Perryton, 25-18. The 6-foot-4 target used his size to the fullest pulling down four catches for 140 yards, averaging 35 yards per reception, with a pair of touchdowns.
Kit Macina, Shamrock, QB, Jr.
Macina was the story of Shamrock’s 42-20 win at Highland Park moving the Irish to 3-0 on the year. The dual-threat QB used his feet to pile up 230 rushing yards on 16 carries with a TD. He also added 162 yards threw the air with two more touchdowns.
L’Travion Brown, Tascosa, RB-DB, Sr.
Brown led a geared up Tascosa rushing attack that thwarted Odessa Permian for 312 yards in a 40-21 victory. The senior made the most of his eight carries scampering for 87 yards, averaging 10.9 yardsa carry, with a touchdown. Defensively, Brown made four tackles, three of those solo.
Sam Anguiano, Pampa, QB, Sr.
The Pampa gunslinger did everything in his power to get the Harvesters a seventh straight win against arch-rival Borger. During the 51-17 victory Anguino picked a part the Bulldogs secondary for 193 yards with three touchdowns.
Nathan Rowley, Wheeler, QB, Sr.
Rowley found Kamonte Martin on a game-winning touchdown pass with 14 seconds to play that lifted Wheeler to a thrilling 24-18 win at Quanah. Rowley was big all night for the Mustangs throwing for 244 on 15-of-23 passing with three touchdown tosses.
