AHS and Tascosa stay hot

Amarillo High and Tascosa both stayed the course, picking up key district wins Tuesday.

In District 2-6A, the Rebels scored a huge road victory at Frenship, 52-50.

Donnie Sutton knocked down the eventual game-winning free-throws in the closing seconds to give Tascosa the win. Suton was the leading scorer with 16 points.

The Rebels are now 20-6 overall and 5-1 in district.

AHS kept its perfect District 3-5A record alive thanks to a 68-55 home win against Monterey.

The Sandies move to 22-8 overall and 13-0 in league play. Chris Dees, Brenden Hausen and Damonze Woods each had 13 points.

Spearman upends Bushland

Spearman shocked Bushland by handing the Falcons a 53-34 loss on Tuesday night in Spearman.

It was the first District 1-3A defeat for Bushland, as the Falcons are now 9-1 in district and 15-8 overall. Lynx 6-foot-8 post Peyton Black led all scorers with 18 points to help Spearman finds itself back in playoff contention at 5-5 in 1-3A and 15-12 overall.
