Press Pass Sports talked with Spearman Lynx football coach Brandon Reagan during fall workouts. The Lynx are returning 16 combined starters off a team that won 8 games and made a run to the UIL Class 2A Division I regional semifinals. Reagan talked about the expectations of his team heading into the year and the toughness his team has shown throughout fall camp.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Hudson Swan, 5-10, 175-pounds, RB-DB, Sr.
One of the key returners on both sides of the ball is the veteran Swan. Last season, Swan helped lead a loaded backfield and is expected to do more of the same this season. Swan is the type of player that can do everything. Swan ended his junior year with 1,018 rushing yards to go with nine touchdowns and added 537 receiving yards with another 10 scores. He also racked up 90 tackles on the defensive side.
Jailen Vasquez, 5-foot-7, 175-pounds, QB-DB, Sr.
Vasquez took over the reigns at the QB position for good last season and was literally able to run with it. The shifty dual-threat quarterback was able to keep defenses on their toes throwing for 1,299 yards and 10 TDs, but his strength was running behind a solid offensive line. Vasquez used his legs to register 1,009 yards on the ground with 11 touchdowns.
Landon Sonnenberg, 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, TE-LB, Sr.
With his length and strength, Sonnenberg gives head coach Brandon Reagan plenty of options to work with. On offense, Sonnenberg is a tremendous blocker and has strong hands as a passing option. He proved that last year with 379 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. On the defense, Sonnenberg is a dependable linebacker that made 112 tackles with 12 of those coming for a loss and added two interceptions.
