Texline continues to cruise

The Texline Tornadoes are using the district season more as a playoff warmup than competition. On Friday night, the Tornadoes rolled into Wildorado and left wreaking havoc, breezing to a 74-33 victory.

Texline has already wrapped up the District 3-1A title at 9-0 and are now 24-7 overall.

Branston Potter had the hot-hand by lighting up the Mustangs for 21 points behind six 3-pointers. Teammate Bo Bradley added 15 with three, 3 pointers.

Dalhart defends home court

The Dalhart Golden Wolves picked up a huge victory at home with a 72-60 win against Bushland during a key District 1-3A clash Friday.

The win puts Dalhart (23-4) at 6-1 and tied for Canadian for the league lead. It’s been a rough week for the Falcons (13-10), who suffer a second straight loss and drop to 4-3 in district.

Maddix Blanco was on fire for Dalhart, dropping in a game-best 26 points. Teammate Talon Garcia followed with 15.

FRIDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS

  • Ayden Larra of West Plains couldn’t be stopped, knocking down eight, 3-pointers, to finish with 25 points, as the Wolves stayed perfect in District 4-4A, in a 78-33 rout of Dumas.  
  • Canyon’s Jordan Webber capped off quite the week during the Eagles 78-22 win against Borger. Following a 20-point outing on Tuesday, Webber tallied a team-high 18 against the Bulldogs.
  • Canadian’s Riggs Pennington put on a show, going for a game-high 23 points that included two dunks as the Wildcats tamed Tulia 69-47.
  • Case Micheletti went off for a game-best 37 points during the Antelopes 106-46 lopsided win over Tahoka.
  • Carter Gonzalez of Hale Center was lights out from the field, going for a game-best 33 points in the Owls 80-57 win against Lockney.
  • Memphis earned a key 50-48 victory against Clarendon on Friday night during a District 2-2A clash. Armando Saenz did his part for the Cyclones with 11 points and six boards.
  • Farwell’s Tak Miller finished with a game-high 21 points as the Steers stomped rival Bovina 79-36.  
  • Corde Jackson of Boys Ranch lit up Hartley for 25 points during the Roughriders 91-40 victory in a District 3-1A clash.
  • Fort Elliott picked up a clutch win over Booker 54-40 behind Kelton Sims and his 17 points.
  • Holy Cross Catholic Academy finished off the TAPPS District 1-2A season a perfect 14-0 to win the outright championship with a 70-23 victory against Southcrest Christian on Friday. Kong Deng led the Mustangs thanks to 17 points.
