Bushland edges Dalhart

The Bushland Lady Falcons continue to soar over the past five days. Fresh off getting a big win over Canadian last Friday, the Lady Falcons defended their home court once again by edging Dalhart 51-49 on Tuesday night.

The Lady Falcons keep a stronghold on the District 1-3A lead at 4-0 while improving to 21-7 overall. Dalhart suffers its first loss in league play, falling to 3-1 and 22-4.

Bushland’s Sami Rice played a key role in the victory with a team-high 16 points. Charley Freeman chipped in 14 for Bushland. Despite the loss, Kammi Maddox tallied a game-high 18 points for the Lady Wolves.

Liberty ties up District 5-4A lead by beating Frenship Memorial

Lubbock-Cooper Liberty pulled into a first-place tie with Frenship Memorial for the District 5-4A lead thanks to getting a hard fought 51-48 win Tuesday night.

The Lady Patriots (22-4 overall) avenge a loss to the Lady Panthers in the first meeting and are now 6-1 in league play. Memorial falls to 6-1 in the district and 20-8 on the year.

Alyssa Henderson went for a team-high 14 points for Liberty. Teammate Mikah Henderson had 13.

TUESDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS

  • Frenship’s Jada Jackson went off during a 91-41 victory against Odessa Permian during a District 2-6A showdown, as the Lady Tigers took over first place in District 2-6A. Jackson finished the game with a career-high 37 points. Those 37 points set a new school-record for an individual performance. Jackson knocked down 11 field goals in the victory and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe.
  • Freshman phenom Brylee Thompson put together another outstanding showing by tallying a game-high 28 points to push Miami to a 76-31 win against Follett.
  • Tascosa cruised to an 85-30 win against Lubbock High behind Angel Green’s 24 points.
  • Randall picked up a big road win by going to Perryton and bringing back a 50-38 win. Kennah Thomas paced the Lady Raiders with 16 points.
  • Keanu Allen lifted the Amarillo High Lady Sandies to a 54-43 win at Plainview by posting a game-high 15 points.
  • Claude’s Briar Behrens and Bree Perez combined for 45 points in a 65-36 win against McLean. Behrens posted a game-high 24 with Perez adding 21.
  • Emma Jalomo poured in a game-best 20 points as Childress picked up its first district win 75-18 over River Road.
  • Stratford’s Madi Braden kept her hot play going with 23 points during a Lady Elks 53-44 win against Sunray.
  • Farwell kept on rolling with a 70-36 blowout win against Bovina. Ava Jaime sparked the win victory with 21 points highlighted by going 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.
  • New Home stayed unbeaten in District 4-2A with a 56-42 win at Abernathy. Dyllan McMinn did all she could to lead the way with 18 points.
