On the court: The sophomore sharpshooter has been piling up the points all season and that continued during a pair of District 4-2A wins against Tahoka and Floydada last week. Against the Bulldogs, Micheletti went for 31 points on 13-of-28 shooting to go with five rebounds, three assists and three steals. In the win against the Whirlwinds, Micheletti poured in 33 points on 13-of-19 shooting from the floor with three boards, four assists and four steals.

On the season, Micheletti is having a tremendous start posting 26 points a night.

Head coach Drew Thompson: “I think we had a great start to the season and then had a tough time over Christmas. We’ve had some injuries, but we’ve been playing really well of late and we just want to keep peaking. Case is a stud and a great one to coach. He’s a great shooter and he has a tremendous motor on him. It’s hard for teams to match his pace of play the way he can run the floor and score points. He is also a great defender and forces a lot of turnovers.”

Micheletti: “I feel like we’re playing really well at the moment and we’ve come a long way. We’ve grown a lot and we’re starting to come together. Coming off an injury last year, I think I’m finding my pace of play. I’m getting better on my shooting and my goal is for us to just get as far as we can as a team and see if I can’t reach 1,000 points this year.”
