Here’s a look at the Texas Panhandle baseball and softball teams remaining in the UIL regional round of the playoffs.

SOFTBALL

Region I-4A championship
Division I 

Dumas (34-5) vs. vs Andrews (33-7), at Lady Bulldogs Softball Complex, Plainview 

Game 1: 6 p.m. Friday 
Game 2: 11 a.m. Saturday 
Game 3: 30 minutes following Game 2, if necessary  

Region I-3A championship  
Division I 

River Road (28-9) vs. Iowa Park (28-3-1), at Abilene Christian University 

Game 1: 6:30 p.m. Thursday 
Game 2: 1:30 p.m. Friday 
Game 3: 30 minutes following Game 2, if necessary  

Region I-2A championship  
Division I 

Clarendon (28-5-1) vs. Floydada (31-7), at Double Eagle Park, Canyon 

Game 1: 6 p.m. Friday 
Game 2: 1 p.m. Saturday 
Game 3: 30 minutes following Game 2, if necessary

Amarillo High (24-10) vs. Aledo (27-7), at Iowa Park Baseball Complex 

Game 1: 7 p.m. Thursday 
Game 2: 1 p.m. Friday 
Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2, if necessary

CLASS 4A 
Regional semifinals   
Division I 

West Plains (27-5-1) vs. Mineral Wells (18-12-1)

One game: 5 p.m. Friday Colorado City Baseball Complex 

CLASS 2A 
Regional semifinals 
Division II 

Gruver (19-0) vs. Albany (11-6-3), at Elk City, Okla.

Game 1: 4 p.m. Friday 
Game 2: 30 minutes following Game 1 
Game 3: Noon, Saturday, if necessary

Kale Steed has worked in media since 2002 and has covered sports full-time since 2010, when he joined KVII-TV as a weekend sports reporter and sports anchor. From 2010–2014, he covered high school and collegiate athletics across the Texas Panhandle before transitioning from television to print journalism. In 2014, Steed joined the Amarillo Globe-News as a staff sports reporter.
