District 4-4A
Dumas found itself in serious trouble Friday afternoon down 4-2 to Randall in the fourth inning before the game was called due to rainy conditions.
That break allowed the Demonettes to regroup for Monday and take full advantage as Dumas was able to erase that deficit and rally back for a thrilling 6-5 win in eight innings to leave Randall stunned and keep the Demonettes unbeaten in District 4-4A.
[tds_partial_locker tds_locker_id=”26894″]When the contest resumed Monday, Dumas was able to tie it up 4-4 in the fifth. Randall had taken a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh, but once again the Demonettes didn’t go away tying the game back up 5-5 to force extra innings. In the bottom of the eight the rally became complete when Mia Fry drove a pitch deep to centerfield for a walk-off solo shot giving Dumas the come-from-behind victory.
Following that victory, Dumas had an easier time Tuesday beating up Borger 17-4. That victory was clutch as Dumas (26-3) moved to 11-0 in District 4-4A and was able to clinch a share of the District 4-4A championship.
Vida Fierro had quite the two games. Fierro had a three-run double against Randall and was then 3-for-4 with a homer to total six RBIs in the win against Borger.
Randall did bounce back to remain all alone in second place in the district beating rival Canyon 7-4 on Tuesday. The Lady Raiders (22-8) sit all by themselves in second place at 8-3 in the league. Canyon (20-7-2) is now in a three-way tie with Pampa and West Plains for third place at 7-4.
Tatum Gibson feasted on Lady Eagles pitching going 3-for-4 including a home run totaling three RBIs.
Pampa cruised by Hereford on Tuesday with a 13-1 win. The Lady Harvesters are 7-4 in the league and now 14-6 overall. Briley Daniels went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Maecie Hawthorne earned the win going five innings allowing two hits with nine strikeouts.
West Plains also kept pace with Pampa and Canyon blasting Perryton 28-2. The Lady Wolves (11-12-1) are now tied for third at 7-4 in the district. Teagan Beck had a huge outing going a perfect 5-for-5 with three doubles and four RBIs.
District 3-5A
Caprock has kept itself in the mix of a District 3-5A playoff spot thanks to the start of a big week. The Lady Longhorns erased a 3-1 deficit against Amarillo from a game postponed Friday, to rally back for a 5-4 victory at home when the game resumed Monday.
With the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth, the Lady Longhorns were able to plate a run from an error that resulted in the victory. Grace Morales worked all seven innings in the circle gutting her way through six hits and four earned runs but did have eight strikeouts. Annalei Valdez was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Caprock kept up that momentum on Tuesday downing Palo Duro 14-2. Anahi Cadena, Valdez and Kelsey Barcroft all went deep. The Lady Longhorns (12-8-1) are in third place in the district at 8-5.
Amarillo High did rally back following the loss to beat rival Tascosa 15-8 on Tuesday. The Lady Sandies (20-8-2) are in second place in District 3-5A at 11-2. Brianna Cloud pounded three home runs in the win to finish with six RBIs.
District 1-3A
River Road stayed red hot downing Dalhart 23-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Wildcats (20-6 overall) sit all alone in first place of District 1-3A at 6-0 and have clinched a playoff berth. Carolyn Koval racked up 13 strikeouts over five innings and had a solo shot. Ava Sharp also homered on a 2-for-4 day at the dish with three RBIs.
Bushland held off Childress for an 8-5 victory Tuesday. The Lady Falcons are right behind River Road at 6-1 in district and 14-13 overall. Chayney Snelson had a three-run home run and Farryn McKown homered on a 2-for-3 day. McKown also pitched all seven innings giving up one earned run on three strikeouts.
In the other district matchup, Canadian beat Tulia 11-1.
District 1-2A
Sunray erased an early five-run deficit to stun Sanford-Fritch 13-12 on Tuesday in a District 1-2A clash at Fritch.
The Lady Bobcats saw a huge outing from Amy Silva who went 5-for-5 with two triples and a double to finish with an RBI. The Lady Bobcats are 4-3 in district action and 6-5 overall.
West Texas High took down Highland Park 17-2 on Monday. Mackenzie Elliott was 3-for-4 with a double and a game-high five RBIs. Chloe Jett added two doubles and three RBIs. The Lady Comanches (12-5) are 4-3 in the league.
Gruver kept up its great play downing Follett 16-1. The Lady Hounds are now 12-5 on the year.
