Panhandle handles Clarendon

The Panhandle Ettes continue to show why they are the class of District 2-2A after getting a convincing 53-26 over a very talented Clarendon team at home Tuesday night.

The Ettes (23-3) sweep the season series from the Lady Broncos while staying perfect in district play at 7-0. Clarendon (21-6) falls two games back of Panhandle in the standings at 5-2.

Panhandle took control of the game in the first quarter starting off hot taking a 15-4 lead. The Ettes continued that advantage into halftime and were in cruise control by the end of the third quarter up 42-25.

Riley Segura led a solid night of scoring pouring in a game-high 18 points for the Ettes. Teammate Ann Garrison chipped in 14 and Avery Cathey added 10. Kate Shaw led Clarendon with 12 points.

Tuesday’s top performers 

Amarillo High guard Ca’Nia Mitchel dropped in a game-high 27 points during a 72-47 home victory against Plainview.

Valley kept on cruising through District 8-1A downing Motley County 81-21. Senior standout Trinity Schlueter paced the Lady Patriots with 28 points.

Canyon’s Sydnee Winfrey poured in 22 points as the Lady Eagles defeated Pampa 57-22

Kylie Cavalier had the hot hand scoring 27 points helping Canadian move to 27-0 overall beating Tulia 93-25.

Kasidy Russell continues her stellar season posting 26 for McLean during a 59-39 win against Claude.

Dalhart defeated Bushland 51-38 behind Evelyn Quiroz team-high 22 points.

Jaz Martinez racked up 21 points in Vega’s 60-49 win against Sanford-Fritch.

Sadie Sanchez had a strong shooting night scoring a game-best 21 points to help Randall knock off Perryton 71-52.

Wildorado got by Pringle-Morse 49-43 on Tuesday. Jami Perkins was a key reason why tallying a team-high 19 points.
