Canadian beats up Bushland 

The top-ranked Canadian Lady Cats kept their undefeated ways going by grounding the Bushland Lady Falcons 72-43 during a District 1-3A matchup Saturday in Canadian.

The Lady Cats remain an impressive undefeated on the year at 26-0 while moving to 3-0 in District 1-3A. Bushland (12-12) suffers its first district loss falling to 2-1.

The Lady Cats opened the game up in the second quarter outscoring Bushland 25-11 to take a 39-16 lead into halftime.

Canadian’s Cazlee Waite finished with a game-high 20 points followed by Kimora Morales with 14 and Brooklyn Beedy’s 13.

Bushland’s Berklee Billington led the team with 12.

Randall handles Hereford 

Playing on a Saturday afternoon after recent inclement weather didn’t hamper Randall as the Lady Raiders rolled to a 63-46 home win over Hereford.

Randall stays in third place of District 4-4A moving to 5-2 in the league and 16-10 overall. Hereford (9-13) currently sits in fourth place at 4-3.

Tenera Grey and Sadie Sanchez were the difference in the win for Randall. Sanchez did what she does best scoring 21 points to lead the team. Grey was a Swiss Army knife scoring 10 points of her own but worked for 16 rebounds for a double-double.

Friday and Saturday’s top performers 

  • Makylee Baldwin of Farwell poured in an impressive 30 points to keep the Lady Blue unbeaten in district play during an 89-24 win against Lockney.
  • Friona’s Aaliyah Padilla had a spectacular outing scoring 26 points to help the Squaws knock off Lubbock Roosevelt 50-27
  • Amarillo High’s Bella Edwards dropped in 27 points for the Lady Sandies during a 71-24 blowout win against Lubbock Coronado.
  • Tascosa took down Caprock 87-13 on Friday behind Devaeh Johnson’s 27 points.
  • Kami Maddox and Evelyn Quiroz combined for 39 points that lifted Dalhart to a district win at Childress 64-34. Maddox scored a game-high 20 followed by Quiroz’s 19.
  • Pringle-Morse got a huge effort from Dehlihah Martin during a 48-34 victory against Adrian. Martin put together a double-double with 22 points and 20 rebounds.
  • Fort Elliott knocked off Follett 54-30 with Jaylie Dickey posting a game-high 25 points for the Lady Cougars.
  • Stratford’s Madisen Braden tallied a game-best 20 points in a Lady Elk 59-29 victory over Sanford-Fritch.
  • Kambri Cleavinger and Brooklyn Birkenfeld each scored 18 points to keep Nazareth perfect in district play beating Kress 58-25.
  • Valley post player Trinity Schlueter was locked in Friday night scoring 22 points that played a key role in the Lady Patriots 56-33 win over Spur.
  • Holy Cross Catholic Academy picked up a huge 53-47 win over Kingdom Prep on Saturday. Isabel Britten helped make that happen with 21 points.
