Wildorado sweeps Miami 

In a key District 1-1A clash on Tuesday night, Wildorado jumped on Miami and never let the Lady Warriors recover getting a three-set home sweep, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.

Giselle Esparza and Sonell VanWyk sparked the victory for the Lady Mustangs. Esparza did a little bit of everything passing out 10 assists with five aces and four kills. VanWyk did the same with 18 assists, five aces and four kills.

After dropping the district opener to Kelton, Wildorado (5-12 overall) has quickly regrouped moving to 2-1 in district play. Miami (10-13) now falls to 1-2.

Kelton rebounded from a loss on Saturday taking down Darrouzett, 25-9, 25-4, 25-11. The Lady Lions saw big nights from Neely Davis, who went for 26 assists, five kills and five aces. Teammate Emma Reeder had seven kills and served up seven aces while McKinzi McManus knocked down 11 kills.

Kelton (7-5) is 2-1 in district play. Darrouzett (2-3) drops to 0-3 in the league.

Fort Elliott stayed in first place of District 1-1A beating Shamrock in four-sets, 22-25, 25-12, 25-14, 25-16. The Lady Cougars improve to 11-6 overall and 3-0 in the district standings. The Lady Irish fall to 12-10 overall and 1-2 in district.

TAPPS District 1-2A

San Jacinto sweeps Holy Cross

Following their first loss of the district season, the San Jacinto Christian Academy Lady Patriots bounced back in convincing fashion by downing crosstown rival Holy Cross Catholic Academy in straight sets, 25-16, 25-17, 25-10, at home on Tuesday night.

The Lady Patriots push their overall record to 27-4 while going to 6-1 in TAPPS District 1-2A. The Lady Mustangs (15-11) drop to 3-4 in district.

Senior Harlie Brabham was superb for SJCA in the win. Brabham hammered home 11 kills, added 16 assists for a double-double and chipped in four aces. Teammate Blayne Robison led the team with 17 assists and tallied four aces with Alayna Daniels punching over 13 kills.

In another district game on Tuesday, Ascension Academy fell to Lubbock Kingdom Prep, 11-25, 13-25, 18-25.

District 3-5A

Amarillo High opens second half of district play on top  

Amarillo High opened the second half of District 3-5A play like they left off the first half getting a dominating sweep of Palo Duro, 25-10, 25-4, 25-6, at home on Tuesday night.

The Lady Sandies stay all alone in first place of the district at 9-0 and are now 28-6 overall. Palo Duro (10-18) falls to 0-9 in the league.

Payton Cash was one ace short of a double-double finishing with nine aces and 12 assists. Ellen Head led the team in digs with 10 and Sienna Cavalier totaled 15 kills.

Tascosa and Caprock cruise

The Tascosa Lady Rebels and Caprock Lady Longhorns made it a strong night for Amarillo ISD volleyball squads.

The Lady Rebels opened the second half of 3-5A action beating Plainview at home, 25-11, 25-18, 25-16.

The Lady Rebels (26-8) keep their second place standing behind AHS at 8-1. The Lady Bulldogs (11-19) are now 1-8 in district.

Mollie Culp paced the offense with 10 kills followed by Gabbie Mason and Berkley Harper who each totaled nine kills. Mason also was strong at the service line with four aces. Bennet Berryman played great on the back row with 14 digs and Libby Miller stacked up 28 assists.

Caprock went on the road and picked up a 21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-21, victory at Lubbock High on Tuesday.

The victory lifts the Lady Longhorns to 16-13 overall and 4-5 in District 3-5A. LHS falls to 13-21 overall and 2-7 in district competition.

Marlene Ramirez and Grace Morales each had double-doubles for Caprock. Ramirez was stellar with 32 assists and 24 digs. Morales added 24 digs and 12 kills.

In the other District 3-5A matchup on Tuesday, Lubbock Coronado defeated Lubbock Monterey, 25-15, 25-18, 25-17. The Lady Mustangs (19-15) are now 6-3 in district. Monterey (17-17) goes to 4-5 in the league.

District 4-4A

Randall wins at Pampa 

Pampa gave Randall quite the fight, however, the Lady Raiders were able to go on the road and get a four-set, 25-10, 24-26, 25-18, 25-10 win on Tuesday night in Pampa.

Senior setter Sidney Soria set the tone for Randall dishing out an eye-opening 51 assists to lead the offense. Teammate and outside hitter Brooke Henderson had a great outing with 24 digs and 15 kills. Lyn Chavarria did her part as well on the back row with 26 digs.

Despite the loss, Maecie Hawthorne of Pampa put together a rare triple-double with 13 assists to go with 10 kills and 10 digs.

Randall (20-12) stays in second place of District 4-4A at 5-1. Pampa (16-14) is now 2-4 in district.

Canyon, West Plains get victories 

Both Canyon and West Plains keep on trucking in District 4-4A action with wins on Tuesday night.

Canyon soared past Borger on the road in a 25-10, 25-17, 25-22, sweep. The Lady Eagles remain undefeated in district play at 6-0 while moving to 19-10 overall. Borger’s (10-17) struggles continue at 0-6 in the league.

Landri Jay hit the floor for 15 digs, Alainna Bellino led the team with 19 kills and Brooklyn Kinsey drove home seven kills for Canyon.

West Plains marched past Dumas at home in four-sets, 25-27, 25-7, 25-18, 25-20, on Tuesday.

Piper Patterson put together a double-double thanks to 21 digs and 11 kills. AJ Norman led the Lady Wolves with 22 digs and Cecila Murrillo handed out 21 assists.

The Demonettes were paced by Rylee Schacher’s double-double of 17 digs and 11 kills.

West Plains (20-11) stays a game back of Canyon at 5-1 in district. Dumas (17-18) drops to 2-4 in district.

Hereford has no problems with Perryton 

Hereford has now put together three straight District 4-4A wins after beating Perryton 25-11, 25-7, 25-19, on Tuesday night at the Whiteface Gym.

The Lady Whitefaces are in the mix atop the district race at 4-2 and 21-14 overall. Perryton (6-21) suffers its sixth straight district loss falling to 0-6.

London Baker had yet another double-double for Hereford with 13 kills and 13 assists. Madi Madrigal led the team with 17 assists and Cambry Smith served up five aces.
