Jett Lopez, Amarillo High, QB, Jr.
It was quite the debut for the Sandies new gunslinger during a wild 48-45 win over San Angelo Central on Friday night. Lopez proved he can toss around the field going 19-of-34 for 297 yards with five touchdowns.
Dylan Ray, Randall, RB, Sr.
Ray was absolutely stellar leading Randall to a 2-0 start with a thumping over Monahans 43-14. Ray only touched it 11 times but made the most of every carry chewing up 228 yards with three touchdowns. Ray ended the contest averaging 20.7 yards a carry.
Caden Armes, Panhandle, WR, Jr.
Panhandle’s newest member of the roster made his presence known in the Panthers thrilling overtime 33-27 win at Stratford. Armes was a key weapon for quarterback Broxton Robinson snagging four catches for 139 yards with three touchdowns.
Josue Sigala, Muleshoe, RB-DB, Soph.
The sophomore Swiss Army Knife of the Mules proved his worth and then some during a crazy 74-42 win against Lamesa. Offensively, Sigala paced the ground game piling up 154 yards rushing on only eight carries with three TDs. Sigala had an 82-yard kickoff return tallying 352 all-purpose yards. On defense, Sigala did his job making nine tackles.
Brylyn Lopez, Hereford, RB, Sr.
The talented Hereford back has picked up where he left off last season. The Whitefaces stayed unbeaten getting a big road win at Lubbock Estacado 41-21 and Lopez was a big reason why. Lopez tore up the Matador defense for 171 yards on 27 carries with a score.
Jaxon Fetsch, Bushland, LB, Sr.
Fetsch was flying all over the field making life miserable for the Canadian offense in the Falcons 42-21 victory. Fetsch was playing sideline to sideline and was in on most plays finishing the game with 14 tackles with a sack.
Derrion Howard, Tascosa, RB, Sr.
The bruising running back helped Tascosa get back on track during a 34-7 beating of Wichita Falls Legacy. Howard trucked over the Legacy defense piling up 172 yards on 16 carries with a pair of TDs.
Walker Maupin, Gruver, RB, Jr.
Maupin was an absolute mismatch for the Texhoma, Okla., defense as the Greyhounds cruised to a 51-14 victory to stay unbeaten. Behind a talented offensive line, Maupin popped off 262 yards on only 16 carries finding the endzone four times.
Ethan Beltran, Sanford-Fritch, QB, Jr.
Sanford-Fritch celebrated its first win in almost two years snapping a 14-game losing skid thanks to a come-from-behind 28-24 victory against Clarendon. Beltran helped pave that way as the junior did all he could throwing for 197 yards, rushing for 30 yards, finishing the game with a pair of touchdowns.
Alex Warren, River Road, QB-DB, Jr.
River Road is off to a 2-0 start after beating Tulia 29-14 on Friday. Warren executed the Wildcats heavy ground attack by chewing up the Hornets defense for 171 yards on 10 totes with three touchdowns.
