Players to watch

JT Cavender, 6-foot, 220-pound, LB, Sr.

Cavender has been the heart and soul of the Buffaloes for the past four years. With one more season left, the 6-foot, 220-pound linebacker is ready to leave it all on the field. Cavender had another tremendous year in 2023 racking up 109 tackles.

Tyrie Tipton, 5-11, 160-poud, WR, Sr.

The Lubbock Monterey graduate has proven to be a very durable wide out for head coach Josh Lynn with his superb speed and steady hands. Tipton will look to build on a junior campaign where he snagged 21 catches for 293 yards with three touchdowns.

Matthew Ames, 6-foot-3, 285-pound, OL, Sr.

Ames came on strong for the Buffs at right tackle starting 10 games last year. Not missing a start, Ames made a big impact for a run attack that averaged 139 yards per game last year.

Joe Ta’ase, 6-foot-3, 300-pound, OL, Sr.

The Louisiana Tech transfer was a force doing his job starting all 10 games a year ago. Head coach Josh Lynn is pleased with Ta’ase and excited about his growth coming into 2024. Last year, the 6-foot-3, 300-pound guard was a part of an offensive line that led a run game for 139 yards per contest.
