District 1-3A

Bushland, River Road win 

Bushland continued to put the gas to the medal in District 1-3A soaring past Dalhart at home on Monday 14-0 behind outstanding pitching and their big bats.

Brylee Adams tossed a perfect game through five innings rolling up 11 strikeouts. At the plate, Kylee Jordan did her job going 3-for-3 with a pair of homers for a total of four RBIs. Haylee Ruiz was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

The Lady Falcons (21-4-1) stay in complete control of the district at 7-0. Dalhart drops to 3-4 in the league and 10-11-1 overall.

River Road jumped into outright second place with a 13-3 lopsided win over Tulia on the road Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats hit four home runs in the game. Ashlynn Ferris, Angi Rivas, Ava Sharp and Carolyn Koval all went deep. Koval was great at the plate going 3-for-4 with two doubles on top of her home run with three RBIs. Koval also three 5.2 innings scattering two hits with nine strikeouts.

Ferris went 4-for-4 with a double to finish the game with two RBIs.

In the other district game, Canadian won a wild matchup against Dimmitt 18-17.

District 4-4A

Dumas, West Plains, Pampa, stay atop 4-4A

District 4-4A stayed the same as Dumas, West Plains and Pampa all gained victories over the past few days.

Dumas stayed in control of first place in the district sneaking past Hereford on Wednesday by a 4-3 count.

With the game tied 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Yaritza Vargas of Dumas singled home Lisbeth Quiroz to give the Demonettes a 4-3 advantage they wouldn’t relinquish. Vargas was 3-for-4 on the day with that key RBI. Dumas is all alone in first place at 9-2 and 23-6 overall. Hereford falls to 12-16 overall and 4-7 in the league.

West Plains earned a hard fought 5-2 win over Randall on Monday to avenge a loss from a few weeks ago. The Lady Wolves (13-15-2) stay in a second-place tie at 8-3 just a game back of Dumas. Randall (15-16) drops a game out of fourth place at 5-6.

Jaylen Kaps did it all leading the way for West Plains going 1-for-3 with a two-run triple and threw a complete game in the circle without giving up a run with eight K’s.

Pampa also stayed in a second-place tie with West Plains getting an 11-0 shutout over Perryton on Monday.

The Lady Harvesters (13-9) are 8-3 in district while Perryton (3-19) falls to 0-11 in the league.

Pampa’s Mckinley Daniels was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Canyon moved into fourth place thanks to an 11-0 win against Borger and a Randall loss on Monday.

The Lady Eagles (15-13) are sitting all alone for that final playoff spot at 6-5 in district with three games remaining.

In the victory over the Lady Bulldogs, Brenna Edwards led the Lady Eagles with a 3-for-4 day at the dish driving in two runs.

District 3-5A

Amarillo High wins, Caprock rallies past Tascosa

The Amarillo High Lady Sandies clinched a share of the District 3-5A championship easing past Palo Duro 25-0 on Wednesday.

The Lady Sandies are now 23-6 overall and 6-0 in the league. AHS slugger Danae Lopez had a monster game against the Lady Dons going 3-for-5 with a homer totaling six RBIs.

The Caprock Lady Longhorns rallied for a thrilling 7-6 victory over Tascosa on Wednesday.

Tascosa led 6-5 heading into the bottom of the seventh only to see Caprock tie the game up, 6-6, when Grace Morales scored on a wild pitch. The Lady Longhorns then made the comeback complete in the bottom of the eighth on a walk-off single by Brooklyn Thompson that scored Annalyse Gonalez for the game-winning run.

Caprock (10-9) clinches a playoff spot with the victory moving to 4-2 in District 3-5A. Tascosa (8-19) falls to 1-5 in district.

District 1-2A

Sunray, Sanford-Fritch stay hot 

Sunray, Clarendon and Sanford-Fritch all kept its winning ways going this week. Sanford-Fritch picked up a win over Gruver 13-3 on Monday. Sunray handled Booker 21-4 on Tuesday, and Clarendon knocked off Gruver 13-0 on Wednesday.

Clarendon (23-3-1) holds a slim lead in the district at 8-1 with Sanford-Fritch (16-6) at 7-1 in the league. Sunray (14-2) is right behind both teams at 14-2.

In the district’s other game, West Texas High beat Claude 14-1 on Monday.
