The Buffs won both games of a doubleheader to open the series on Thursday by the same scores of 18-12. On Friday, WTAMU completed the sweep with an 8-5 win and then a 14-9 victory in the finale.

WTAMU improves to 29-9 overall and leads the LSC with a 28-8 mark. The Buffs are back on the road for a four-game series starting Friday at St. Mary’s.

Games 1 and 2

On a rare, beautiful day at Wilder Park, the Buffs connected on 10 homers Thursday with six of them coming in the nightcap of a doubleheader.

In fact, out of the Buffs 35 hits Thursday in both games, 22 were for extra-bases.

WTAMU slugger Kory Schmidt had a career afternoon feasting on OCU pitching going a combined 6-for-11 with three total home runs including a grand slam in the night cap to finish with 11 RBIs.

Teammate Rodric Black also had a monster day going a combined 5-for-9 with three homers over both wins with a combined seven RBIs.

Games 3 and 4

The Buffs kept the bats red hot against the Eagles racking up a total of 22 runs during Friday’s doubleheader sweep on an extremely windy afternoon.

WTAMU first baseman Dylan Fesperman hit safely on Thursday, then hit safely once again Friday going a combined 3-for-7 adding four RBIs to extend his impressive hitting streak to 28 straight games.

In the 8-5 win to open Friday, third baseman Seth Ochoa was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. During the 14-9 victory that completed the sweep, Schmidt was at it again going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a team-high four runs driven in.
